sea days in January (Miracle to Mexico)

Recommended Posts

It gets warmer the more south you go. That being said it was rather cool last February. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Where are you from? There always seemed to be a few in the pool.

We have never sailed from the west coast, but many times from southern ports to Mexico. Generally, yes, the weather is fine to sit on deck during sea days. If it is really cold in, say, New Orleans, then it takes about a day to get far enough south to get into warmer temps. I suspect you will be fine sailing to Mexico in January from Long Beach!

Weather off the west coast and the Pacific Ocean is very different than weather in the Gulf of Mexico!

Once you are in Mexico the temps should be nice but when going from California south in the winter it can be breezy and it can rain. There are sunny areas on deck that can be warm but breezy sooo when you get onto the ship be prepared with a hoodie or light jacket and long pants. You can start wearing lighter clothing as the ship gets farther south.

Good to know! Thanks for answering! :)

You just never know what the winter weather in Southern California will be like. Nights will always be cold outside, but if the sun is shining, it's probably great up on deck. We've done early January and mid-March cruises off the coast and enjoyed plenty of pool time. Once you hit Cabo and further south, it should be fine.

Plan for the cold, but keep your fingers crossed for sunshine!
