Which Rule(s)/Practice(s) would you like to see changed on your Carnival Cruise

Recommended Posts

I would love to see a rule for NO perfume of any kind

Enforced dress code or have ytd be "dress how you wish " I'm not the dress police , how you choose to dress is your choice but I do enjoy looking around and seeing that everyone chose to get dolled up [emoji106]

And last I would like to see a section of balconies assigned to smoking

Lets see, what rules would I like to see:

1) Enforcement of the dress code in MDR

2) All Ports go to Staggered Check-In

3) Ability to Rent/Reserve lounge chairs on Serenity Deck (if you want to drop your stuff and move on, it will cost you) or a strict 30 min rule that if you are gone, your stuff is removed

4) Tips on S&S card are non negotiable, they cant be removed

5) Minimum age requirement in Specialty Restaurants (I will say 12)

You've come a long way since your original post of 'no shorts in the MDR'!

Its both entertaining and informative learning and reading about the different rules/practices that Carnival has....I would be interested in knowing what people would like to see changed or even implemented

Mine....no shorts in the MDR for dinner on any night....for the sole reason I would like to see a bit more formality in that setting for dinner

We like being able to wear dress shorts in MDR except on Elegant Night.

My DH does wear his suit on Elegant Night.

I wish they'd come back with the Production Shows. I liked them so much better than Playlist Productions. Also liked entertainment EVERY night.

I'd like to see a complete ban on smoking, children, photography and karaoke.

And meat, so that all dining options would be vegetarian. The bars would all have flair bartenders and alcohol (and all specialty drinks) would be free. There'd also be a smoothie bar.

There'd be no prerecorded music, just live funk music all the time.

The gym would offer lessons in pole-dancing, parkour and aerial acrobatics.

The spa workers would work under a vow of complete silence.

Formal night would be replaced with paintball.

Stewards would dress like Imperial Stormtroopers.

People would be encouraged to bring their cats.

I wonder if it's too late to switch careers and become a cruise director...

I think I'm in love . . .

It would be awesome if they would enforce the towel on the beach chair rule and remove after 30 min, if left unattended that entire time.

I'd also love to see the Casino smoke free, as I'm asthmatic, but sometimes get the itch to gamble ;)

Also a little deeper, but incredibly important ..... I'd like to see more policies in place or implemented better for when travellers are in port, kind of a plan B if things go wrong. We encountered a really nice person (while getting back on the ship), who was sailing as well and she was assaulted while in port. We helped her onto the ship, I called guest services and they didn't really know what to do. I think they should have policies in place, so there is a guideline on how to handle these situations, or if there are policies, a better training/or update for staff on how to address/what to do. I think it was an incredibly difficult situation for anyone to encounter, but it would have been good to have a plan for the person. To reduce the deer in headlights look.

Hmmm the rules I'd change or enforce

1) Chair Hogs... normally doesn't effect me because I don't need a prime spot by the main pool but it is very annoying on the Serenity Deck.

2) Dress Code.... I'm sorry but I feel every adult over the age of 18 needs to own the following: one pair of slack or dress pants, one collared shirt or button down oxford with a tie, or a blouse if you are a woman, and a pair of shoes to match. If you are strapped for cash you can find the clothes at a thrift store or consignment shop. My brother recently went to a bar in town.. it wasn't a dive bar but it wasn't upscale.. just a typical bar. Guess what? They had a dress code. Men could not wear t-shirts they had to wear collared shirts or dress shirts and no hats. Golf clubs had dress codes, other land restaurants have dress codes. And guess what? They are ENFORCED. I know it doesn't affect others but policy is policy and needs to be enforced.

3) Elevators- let them be for all and if someone complains about a healthy person using the elevator then that one stops working. I look able bodied but yet I have to use elevators to go down one or two floors. Why? Because I have a depth perception problem due to constant ringing in my ears throwing off my equilibrium. So it makes going down steps very hard and I increase my risk of falling. NO THANKS

4) Bring back past guest party- I didn't go for the free drinks and appetizers. I went because I felt the cruise line appreciated me for cruising with them often. I'm sorry I don't have time or money to work up to Diamond.

5) Entertainment- I would decree getting rid of the playlist production shows and getting something better. However I do like the Motown one. Also the comedy club will be moved to the main show lounge. My fat foot they don't do it because it takes away from the ambiance. I was on Princess earlier this year and the one night there was a comedian it was in the main lounge which every seat was full and nothing was lost in the show.

And remove the dress code so we can quietly judge you for your gym shorts and t shirts while we wait for more bread.

RE: Elevators

I do the stairs as much as possible (always down and up whenever it's three flights or less). It's the only way to offset the 24/7 food :-}

BUT if I'm waiting for an elevator with someone in a wheelchair or on a scooter or with a walker and others who come up after we were there maneuver past to cut them off, I'll call them out each and every time.

what would be the purpose of the cats if the dining room is supposed to be meat free. :p

btw, care to share whatever you are smoking because some of that stuff was just plain off the wall. :D

Stop kids from playing on the elevater pushing all the buttons!!!

that's more of a parent thing than a rule.

Make one half side smoking for the people that do Smoke and want to relax on there balconies without bothering the non-smokers.

Make one dining room formal ,one non-formal.

Make casino 2 levels, one smoking, one non-smoking.

and the most important ..... after midnight DONOT let kids run hollering up and down hallways slamming doors......

***??? People who do not smoke do not become smokers when on vacation. I have had patients answer the question do you smoke with the answer just a little bit and typically that means they smoke only a little bit because they can't afford more cigarettes or because they do not have enough time to go outside often enough to smoke more at their place of work. Non-smokers do not have any desire to smoke whether on vacation or not!

Not true. My sister in law smokes only when she is drinking a lot. Outside of that she doesn't ever smoke. So yes some people do situationally smoke.

Here is one that is more an annoyance and really couldn't be implemented....if you are relatively physically healthy, you can't take an elevator going down for 3 decks or under....going up, it has to be more than 2 decks....STOP BEING LAZY AND USE THE STAIRS FOR SHORT TRIPS!!!!

this one is stupid and ridiculous! What business is it of yours if someone wants to use the elevator? And why is it an annoyance to you? Why dont you stop using them if it annoys you for others to do so except under situations that you think are ok? You didnt pay for anyone's cruise for them, therefore you dont get to dictate who deserves to use the elevators

I would never go there to say some one's opinion is stupid or whatever. It is their opinion. We are all entitled to our own opinions. Even if they are uninformed ones.

However, I have to add that often, an individual's disability is not visible to others, and why some one uses an elevator should not be up to the discretion of those who know nothing about the person using the elevator up one or two flights. Perhaps they just had knee or hip surgery, or perhaps they are due in the next few weeks for hip or knee surgery. Perhaps they have a heart issue. Judging others is just wrong. My next cruise coming up, I am dealing with some physical issues. Sometimes I will use my cane, and other times it will be folded up in my bag, but then I just might take the elevator up one or two floors. At times that I have good energy, I will always try the stairs first.

But I already know that people will judge me for taking the elevator up a floor or two. Just saying, to those who are quick to judge, try not to be so quick to judge. You are young today, and in 15 or 20 years, who knows what issues your body will deal with.

I would like vaping to not be lumped in with smoking. I quit smoking cigarettes for a reason.

I quit smoking for a reason as well. one of them was because I was tired of breathing crap into my lungs. You quit smoking tobacco. You did not quit inhaling nicotine . I am glad it gets treated like smoking because otherwise vapers would be going around blowing that crap out wherever they wanted, and forcing others to have to breathe that vaper in against our wills. On the other hand I do feel it should be allowed in cabins or on balconies.

It comes off more like he wants to control others and want them to do what they thinks they should do rather than uninformed. Bottom line,I paid for my cruise the same as he did,Im there for my pleasure not his. And if I dont want to go down the stairs, which I do take them soemtimes if the elevators are running slow, then I wont.

I do have arthritis in one knee and at times it does start to hurt, but I guess you cant tell someone like the person who wrote it that.

you are making assumptions. almost every vaping product can be purchased from 2.4mg of nicotine down to 0mg of nicotine. so someone who is vaping may not be inhaling nicotine either.
