Rising Tide Bar Oasis - questions

Recommended Posts

I recently came across this info in an old blog:

the only drinks served at the Rising Tide Bar is champagne and juice, to avoid the need for a fully stocked bar, but we believe it’s also designed to keep folks moving without settling in for the day.

Is this drink info still correct?

Also, is the "rule" one ride up and back down and then get off? If so, I take it that we bring unfinished drink out with us?

OR can we stay in Rising Tide Bar longer to finish our drinks there?

I am curious where you are getting all this false information.

They have pretty much full bar service.

You can stay on the thing as long as you like during operating hours.

I really doubt someone wants to be on it all day, it's not that exciting...

Just got off of the Oasis in June..

There is no limit, or anyone pushing anyone off..

Most rode it either one way, or both ways and got off..

We got wine and Beer, so do not know about any drink limitations.

No limit on riding but I will say that the seats on the RTB are THE most uncomfortable chairs on the entire ship. Endless riding is unlikely for that reason.

This...

Good for a quick stop through for the atmosphere, then go someplace where that you don't feel like you are perched on a the end of a 4x4. My wife and I got a good laugh out of it cuz it has to be intentional or you'd never be able to jam your way in there.

But "as long as you like" assumes you want to leave when the sucker is stopped. You can't leave when it is rising or falling, but unlike the Hotel California it is possible to leave at scheduled stops:D

Yeah, would be hard to get off in the middle

The wait staff was so unforgivably rude on our cruise that I wanted to get off before it stopped. Seemed to have a full bar. I know I had champagne and my husband would have had rum for sure.

If my husband and I wanted to have a drink on the rising bar, would we be able to bring our 12 year old son on it with us (there are only the three of us- I don't want to leave him alone!!)? I know that he would like to sit on it going up and down at least once. I of course wouldn't let him belly up to the bar, but sit on a side where he can watch it go? Thanks

Despite the people who will tell you there should be no children in the ship bars, YES, you are allowed to bring him. I think it runs every half hour (maybe 20 minutes slowly rising or falling, and 10 minutes letting people on and off); so many find a one way trip long enough - but you are welcome to stay on for the return. ENJOY
