Beverage Packages on the Divina

I am curious if there is a benefit to prepaying for your beverage packages? I see they have beer packages, wine packages. Just curious if there is any savings, and if not, where do you buy these packages on the ship?

If you pre-purchase your beverage package,,you will save the 15% gratuity if you were to purchase onboard.:)

If you pre-purchase the 18 voucher drink package and don't use them all, can they be used on future cruises?

Officially the answer is no, but I have successfully used left over vouchers on two different Divina sailngs. Best advice is to try at your own risk. ;)

In reading Cruisermom2nick beverage review which was incredibly written and very detailed (worth reading all of her threads about the Divina) she mentioned she purchased the 104 all inclusive drink package which included bottled water, etc., at a reasonable cost.

Just wondering if anyone else has purchased the 104 package. I have written to my MSC TA, but no answer. I can't seem to find this package mentioned anywhere on the website.

Can anyone give me some insight. Did you purchase this package on the ship or did you prepay?

Thanks in advance for your responses :)

Thanks for the compliment! :) I appreciate it! My MSC PCC sold me the package over the phone- I didn't see the exact specifications online. There are soooo many packages! If you want to call and ask her here is her info- she works Saturdays.

I can't seem to find this package mentioned anywhere on the website.

The reason you can't find it is that 104 is not a package sold to the general public. :( Doubt Maria was supposed to sell it to her. Anyway, she lucked out but it does explain why the servers onboard weren't all familiar with it. Here are the terms according to the info I have but don't expect to be able to purchase. Unless you have her connections. :p

DINNER IN MAIN RESTAURANT: Standard house-brand wines, water, draft beer and soft drinks. LUNCH IN MAIN RESTAURANT: soft drinks and water. SELF-SERVICE BUFFET (all meals): soft drinks and water. BARS: soft drinks, water and classic cafeteria. All other drinks from the Wine/Bar List are on payment, as well as Mini bar, Room Service and items from Specialty Restaurants and Thematic bars menus.

Hope this helps though I know it's not what you wanted to hear.

If you do not buy a beverage package where can you get a drink for free. Our last cruise was on a Disney cruise and you did not have to pay for any soda's, juice, water anywhere on the ship. Only alcohol drinks were a separate charge. If you eat at the prepaid buffet and meal times do the drinks get charged extra with the meals??

Perhaps since this was a short cruise the 104 was offered- other folks had it as well. :)

The Lido had all of that, except juice, at lunch. You cannot get lemonade in the dining room. You also cannot get tap water at the specialty restaurants but must buy bottled water.

I had purchased drink tickets in advanced and went to pick them up in the Casino bar once on-board. I did notice a sign at the bar that said something about the ship having to collect a 7% sales tax while in port in Miami on beverage package sales. I didn't pay too much attention since it didn't apply to me.

But... if that is the case, purchasing the the coupons onboard (while still in the Miami) would come to $84.00 plus $5.88 (tax) plus $12.60 (gratuity) = $102.84

Did anyone else see that sign?

I haven't seen the sign but do know they have to collect the sales tax onboard until they reach "international waters". Which has always baffled me as they don't collect it if you pre-purchase it.

Nope....don't have any connections;)sure do wish I did!!! I will be speaking with Maria tomorrow. Anxious to hear what she has to say. My PCC at MSC never heard of the 104 package. I hope we luck out too...that would be awesome. I wonder why they don't offer it as a package to the public......

Wow, Do they really make that much money on soda's? And I assume you cannot bring your own soda's on board with you. I can see them charging for alcohol drinks but, soda's!! So if you have kids it is better to travel on a Disney cruise then the other lines where they will nickle and dime you. I will have to keep this in mind when I plan my next cruise. Thank you.

If you think sodas are free on Disney, take another look at their cruise prices  You pay one way or the other - where you pay onboard, you get to choose how much you'll spend.

LOL So they get your money one way or another. Can you bring your own sodas on board? I think I read somewhere you cannot bring alcohol but, a few cans in your luggage would be OK???

You could try bringing some on with you. The worst that can happen is that they'd be confiscated for the duration of the trip and returned to you when you disembark. There have been reports of successes and failures on this board so it really depends on the day and on the itinerary. On Divina from Miami who knows? If you try it, come back and let us know how you fared.

There is a soda voucher offer that is for 15 soda's. Can't remember the exacts, but it was worth it to me. Diet Coke is my morning caffine!

And don't worry about where you will be able to purchase all the various packages - while eating our buffet lunch ALL the bar staff is in there showing you the various choices and handling the purchase of them for you.

We had the wine package, beer package and soda package. Good thing about all of those - there are Sharable.

Does the Divina have Diet Coke? I went to their web site and it said they only had Coke Lite which tastes different from Diet Coke. My wife drinks Diet Coke and hates Coke Lite.

If they stock up in Miami they probably have Diet Coke but if they stock up in a Caribbean port it would be Coke Lite.

I found out today from MSC that the 104 drink package is offered on the short cruises only and I believe she said it isn't always available.

Cruisermom2nick, I just checked the MSC website to see what is included in the 18-drink voucher. Here is what it says:

"Beverage card for 18 consumptions, valid for all drinks from the Bar and Wine including wines by the glass with the price up to US$7.50, draft beer, bottled or canned beer with the price up to US$5, canned sodas, fruit juices, mineral water, wide selection of coffee-based drinks, premium teas, hot chocolate delights, selection of call-brand spirits, all cocktails from the Bar list with the price up to US$8, as well as take away ice cream in a cone or cup." Since Purple Rain is priced under $8, it was included.
