OzCanuck Posted July 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2016 To MIA a taxi is about $25 and takes 15 minutes. FLL is much further and much more expensive. Don't do the NCL transfer - $25 per person..!
beerman2 Posted July 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2016 There are many that do the transport from the port to FLL JiffyJeff, SAS, MJS , and a couple of others. 15.00 per person Taxi to Mia is 25-30 Taxi to FLL is 70-80 Fla Deparure board has a lot of info for this! Good luck!
hawkman402 Posted July 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2016 We just booked an Escape cruise a couple of days ago. NCL added transfers to Miami airport for $16pp.
cb at sea Posted July 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2016 From POM to MIA is a short trip and inexpensive. You really don't want to have to go between Miami and Ft. Laud....it's about 45 mins-1hr, depending on traffic, and expensive!!! You won't want to do a cab between Miami and Ft. Laud...a shuttle of some kind is better. We routinely do a 10:45 am flight from MIA when Miami is our port.
boatseller Posted July 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2016 MIA is logistically the easier. An Uber ride will be $15-20.
Susandt Posted July 21, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Right now flights into ft launder dale are $200 cheaper:(
johnrich Posted July 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Right now flights into ft launder dale are $200 cheaper:( We always fly into FLL because the flights are usually so much cheaper. We've found shared shuttles for between $12 and $15 pp. We are taking a cruise out of Miami in Sept and flying into FLL saved us over $200 pp:). Susandt Posted July 21, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted July 21, 2016 How long does it take from port to hotel and do I need to pre book shuttle
EleventyBangBang Posted July 21, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 21, 2016 For some reason my ticket was cheapest flying in to MIA and out of FLL. My plan is to Uber from the port to FLL. It will eat into the amount I saved on the plane ticket but I'll still come out ahead.
TVLady3 Posted July 21, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 21, 2016 Last month we flew into FLL. Got our luggage, went outside, called for a UBER and 10 minutes later we were on our way to the Miami Marriott near bayside. This cost $15 with the drivers $20 discount code. The drive took about 35-40 minutes. Then getting to the cruise port we took a taxi for $12. After the cruise we had $25 per person NCL bus transfers which were great. :D

riclop Posted July 22, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 22, 2016 Plenty of options to take you to the airport and cheaper then there shuttles.
asubaru Posted July 22, 2016 #14 Share Posted July 22, 2016 Expensive? Not my experience....I paid $30.00 from POM to FLL using UBER. Wait time was 2 minutes. That was including tip, but we did extra since he loaded/unloaded our bags. From POM to MIA is a short trip and inexpensive. You really don't want to have to go between Miami and Ft. LovetheCubs Posted July 22, 2016 #15 Share Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) We used Jiffy Jeff from FLL to port....great all around and 30 bucks for 2. Clean, safe and on time....and I have very high standards. Used cab from Port to MIA (yes we used both airports on our trip) and thought we were going to die....and it was almost 30 bucks for 2 of us and a much shorter ride. Would recommend Jiffy Jeff anyday! Edited July 22, 2016 by LovetheCubs
Amoré Familia Posted August 21, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 21, 2016 Flights for us into Ft L have always been cheaper. We fly in day before. And fly out day disembark. My experience on last two cruises is that self disembarks are 8-8:45. And no matter when if using cruise line transport you leave port 8:45-9:00 for a 30-45 min ride. Not bad as they can use the express lane. We used GoMJSTransport on way to hotel $15 per person. Extremely clean Mercedes van Very friendly and helpful. They also go to Miami airport. I would definitely use them again. If in a hurry after cruise take private transport, although they probably want a full load too and may depend on who is ride sharing . Ray was our driver . Nice English retired Physicist. Been around the world pleasant to listen to. Has an English accent.
