Purchasing internet, is there any benefit to waiting until we get on board vs. now?

I am going to need to have internet connectivity for business while on board. This is our first time with Celebrity so we are newbie Captains Club members, so I don't think we get any Captains Club discount. Is there any incentive or benefit to buying unlimited internet once on board? Or will it be the same cost vs. if I did it now?

You are correct in that you will not get a Captain's Club discount. There used to be offers of discounts if purchased on the first day, however, I believe that these are no longer offered with the unlimited package. The only advantage to waiting for you would be the ability to use OBC if you have any.

I think this was discussed after our cruise so late May, early June.

We bought unlimited with a discount on offer for about 179$.

Others had paid more apparently either by paying in advance or on the ship. Massive differences. We were on the Silhouette and it worked well.

Glad to here the internet is working good on Silhouette. I had bought the unlimited online for our next cruise. 12 nights was $199. I was told I could get the Elite Plus discount if I waited and bought on board. Maybe that is gone now? I talk to my TA and I change to the get all 4 perks (best). Then I credited back my $199. In the end I did save quite a bit of money.

In addition to what has already been stated unless you are receiving some kind of discount for booking in advance there is no advantage booking early. It is really easy to sign up when you are on board via the system. There might be some kind of special pricing and you can us OBC if you wait until you board.

Enjoy your cruise.

Thanks for the feedback. I've decided I want to use the $50 in OBC I have for the casino and I think we already have the Go Better promotion through our travel agent. We picked the beverage package and prepaid gratuities since they both are individually more than the $140 for internet.

I'm pretty sure to upgrade to the Go Best through our TA would be more than $140 total for the two of us. I like the idea of having internet paid for and ready to go once we get on board but just wasn't sure if we might find any special last minute incentives once on board, even if it's 5%.

You get the Elite or Elite plus discount whether you book on board or before that. It should bring down the $199 to about $125 to $120. However, there was no way to apply the discount if you do it yourself online via your "manage reservation" tab, so we called and did it over the phone, they applied the discount and we are set.
