gkrnjlr Posted July 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2016 I am 9 points away from Gold on the latitudes rewards level. I have a 7 day cruise booked next March and it's been broke long enough that I should get 14 points. Will I get the Gold rewards while on this cruise or will I not get them until after the cruise is over? Thanks!
falkensmaze Posted July 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2016 Points are awarded after you return. So you'll be silver. In same position myself ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GUT2407 Posted July 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2016 New to NCL and struggling to find details of latitude. Maybe it's just the awful Australian site they default me to.
Rare cml4958 Posted July 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2016 I'm in the same boat as you. Unfortunately you get them when the cruise is over. So no perks until your next sailing.
falkensmaze Posted July 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2016 To be fair this will be only my third cruise and never had a suite. so getting to gold so quick proves booking in advance has its pluses! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

falkensmaze Posted July 26, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 26, 2016 How does the booking in advance part work? Booking Nine months in advance gets you double points per night . 2x7 2x10 and 2x7 = 48 for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

GUT2407 Posted July 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 26, 2016 Try the US Site https://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards-program Must be a geo thing, defaults me back to the Australian site and it's probably there somewhere, just I'm to stupid to find it. But it's there first season here so not sure.
getupgo Posted July 26, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 26, 2016 On Carnival, you get Gold privileges if you turn gold on that cruise. On NCL, you do not. Very disappointing for me because this will be turn gold cruise.

gkrnjlr Posted July 26, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted July 26, 2016 Thanks for letting me know! Yes....Carnival gives it to you ON the cruise that you reach the level. I was hoping NCL was like that, too. Oh well.... I agree....points start adding up fast when you book well in advance. No suites in my history but that would've been a nice addition for points, too! hawkeyetlse Posted July 26, 2016 #17 Share Posted July 26, 2016 1 point per night x2 for advance booking x3 for suites and x4 for latitude special cruises. :)To be clear, it's not ×2, ×3 etc. It's one additional point per night for each of these types of booking situations, up to 4 points per night. (Someone is going to see your message and go "hey why didn't I get 3 times the points for my suite?" It's just one additional point.)

GUT2407 Posted July 26, 2016 #20 Share Posted July 26, 2016 So if I've booked a suite 18 months out I'll get three points per night and so will Mrs Gut, am I right?
Rare kjquilts Posted July 26, 2016 #21 Share Posted July 26, 2016 So if I've booked a suite 18 months out I'll get three points per night and so will Mrs Gut, am I right? You are correct, unless the destination happened to be a latitude special when you booked. In that case you would each receive 4 points per night. Musicalvix Posted July 26, 2016 #22 Share Posted July 26, 2016 I am in the same situation - I am currently Silver (after 2 cruises) both booked more than 9 months in advance - one 7 nights and one 12 nights. I am currently 10 points off Gold - I have another cruise booked in February 2017 - but it is B2B, so I will go Gold on the first one, and then Platinum on the second one. As it is 31 nights booked more than 9 months in advance. I am guessing as it is two difference cruises, I will get Silver for the first one, and then Gold for the second one? Then have to wait until my next booking for Platinum!
don't-use-real-name Posted July 26, 2016 #23 Share Posted July 26, 2016 (edited) So if I've booked a suite 18 months out I'll get three points per night and so will Mrs Gut, am I right? Yes you are correct but booking more than 9 months does not grant additional points. In your case you receive 1 point per night for the cruise 1 point for the 9 month booking and finally 1 point for booking the suite Latitude points are earned unique to the individual and not for a couple. A considerable amount of confusion here: You earn -1- point for every night of the cruise Booking a cruise 9 or more months away earns 1 point per night Booking a SUITE (not a mini-suite) anytime earns 1 point per night Booking a Latitudes Insider Offer anytime earns 1 point per night * * Watch that you do not cancel and rebook a 9 month booking just to get the Insider Offer losing points ! So the most you can get is 4 and the least 1. No other multiplying factors ! NCL stepping up to the next Latitude level is AFTER the cruise * * If on a B2B cruise or multiple linked cruises it is possible to step up to the next level while taking the second leg of that B2B or another cruise following the cruise earning the Latitude status. Check with NCL or if on board the Future cruise agent should be able to fix/adjust this * * this really is not all that important unless the level is Platinum giving you 1 free laundry - bottle of bubbly - chocolate strawberries - - concierge services and priority boarding tendering and disembarking behind the scenes tour - complimentary dinner with wine at Le Bistro !
