1st time CAS breakaway

I just returned from the Breakaway July 24th cruise. My daughter and I had to fly home yesterday July 29th due to a family issue. This was my first time on NCL and even though our cruise was cut short and the casino was closed during our first day in Bermuda I accumulated over 14K points alone. The casino host took $350 off my final bill and yes it would have been nice if the service fees had been included but with trying to settle cancelling spa reservations and so on I just let it be.

Being that this cruise was cut short, do you think I will be eligible for a free cruise through their CAS program. I would love to see if I can arrange a late august Bermuda cruise (of course if there is availability) but due to flying home at our expense and really only having half a cruise, I do not want to pay a lot for another cruise. I did have trip insurance, but the issue was a family issue that affected my daughter and could not let her go home by herself.

I am booked through CAS on Aug 2016 cruise, there seems to be a few of us through CAS. Last cruise I took New Years 2016 I earned 10k points and they comped me a mini-suite on the upcoming Aug cruise. You should not have a problem. Call CAS directly.

Supposedly, you should wait until the Wednesday after a Saturday disembark cruise to allow time for points to be sent to Casinos at Sea office, but I am confident that you would qualify for a comp based on your play. good luck!

It is going to depend on how you earned those points. On slots or VP you will have no problem getting a comp. Probably a mini suite or better. If you earned the points at Pai Gow, BJ, or the craps pass line and odds, good luck, maybe an outside. CAS has smartened up and only seem to offering the better comps with the bad odds players games.

Let us know what they offer you, good luck.

I played slots. I would be very happy with a minisuite. I will definitely let you know what is offered.

I just want to say that I'm sorry that your cruise was cut short, and hope that all is well for your daughter. Things like that are never easy. I am, however, thrilled that you apparently enjoyed your first Norwegian cruise and that you're thinking about another! I've been waiting for your return & report, and hoping you had an enjoyable time onboard.

Based on the points you earned in that short a time, I am definitely confident that you will qualify for something. I also agree that waiting until Wednesday is best, so that there is time for the ship records to be transmitted and your history to be visible to the CAS dept. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

CAS Comps and/or discounts are based on a number of factors including, but not limited to: Actual loss, theoretical loss, time spent playing per day, and average bet. Points earned toward tiers tell only a part of the tale, and really can't be used as a basis for what type of comp a person will receive, because that doesn't take into account the number of hours, the amount of loss, etc. Even for a slot player on high limit machines playing numerous hours per day, if they've enjoyed a fair amount of winning, their comp will be lower than a player on average machines at max bet with the same number of hours, but fewer or no jackpot type wins.

I called today and was offered a minisuite. I inquired about either the large aft minisuites or a spa minisuite which I would pay to upgrade but was informed it would cost an additional $1000. I looked at the difference in prices online and it should only be about $400 to $500 more. I don't understand the pricing but shouldn't it be the difference in the prices that you see on line.

Anyway I'm booked May 2017 going back to Bermuda and hoping to get the full cruise in this time.

CAS seems to have set prices to upgrade to a higher category and it isn't dependent on what regular cabin upgrades would be when prices drop. They will give you the best regular category of the cabin you qualified for. MA for mini-suite, BA for balcony, etc.

Hope your next cruise goes smoothly for you. Bermuda is such a great cruise! Have fun:D

Had received an OV for upcoming cruise. Saw that balcony was only$20 total more than my OV Called and was told $100pp extra. I questioned this and was told they do not use current published prices for CAS upgrades. Stayed with OV s port intensive cruise will limit how much I use the balcony

Fantastic! Very glad to hear you've received a nice comp, plus a fair upgrade with that fabulous Thermal Suite access.

Enjoy!
