Are the dress code requirements more eased on the first night since some people won't have their bags yet?

 

That's been the case with me on other lines, but wanted to see about Royal.

Yes, wear what you want, no swim suits, and wear shoes

Yes. Shorts and T Shirts are pretty much the norm with luggage delivery being delayed

Except for Cunard and possibly some other European cruise lines one can wear whatever one wore while boarding the ship except for gloves ,scarves and outerwear.
