Afloat Posted August 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2016 We will be in Dubrovnik on an upcoming Mediterranean cruise. Are Euro accepted to pay for admission to walk the walls in Dubrovnik or are Kuna preferred? Also which currency is preferred for taxis, buses, restaurants, and purchasing souvenirs? Thank you. LondonTowner Posted August 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2016 As Kuna is the official currency of the country, then that's what you need.

You can obtain Kuna from any of our many ATM machines located in the town. You will find that many shops and restaurants will accept credit cards, however do ask first and do not assume. Cable car and the city wall only accept Kuna and credit cards, no foreign currency. Enjoy your limited time here.

George C Posted September 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2016 We were there last week and I read we needed Kuna's which in general was not needed Euros and credit cards are accepted in most places, 1st thing we saw when our ship pulled in was a big sign saying how much taxi was in euro's , we had a nice lunch and paid in euro's ( need to ask them before to make sure its ok) , everything we bought we used euro's. rate was about 7.5 to 1 euro, Loved this port no tour is needed and great place if you like cats since there all over the place.
