freestyling Posted August 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2016 We prefer the NA due to the color scheme. Ships are virtually identical otherwise.
CruiserBruce Posted August 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Have sailed both. Have another booked on Eurodam, because of the route/dates. There is really no difference, other than perhaps paint colors. Both have tight crews and staff.

jtl513 Posted August 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) We've sailed E three times, NA twice. I prefer NA, although I can't really put a finger on why. ;) On the NA they did correct some of the mistakes made on the E, such as the VT "Juliette" balcony cabins. Base your decision on dates and prices, as they really aren't much different. . Edited August 22, 2016 by jtl513

dakrewser Posted August 22, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Choose by itinerary - that'll differ more than the 2 ships do...
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2016 We have sailed on both ships several times. We prefer the Nieuw Amsterdam. Like the idea that the Lido Cabanas are on the starboard side. So when you want to get from the front of the ship to the rear (or vise versa) on the port side, the path isn't taken up with cabanas. DeeniEncinitas Posted August 22, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 22, 2016 Choose by itinerary - that'll differ more than the 2 ships do... Dave is right on!!!!! Love, love, love my Nieuw! Have done 4 cruises on her that would include 2010 inaugural to Europe! 3 times doing collector cruises on her to the Med and one time to the Carribean. This time she is doing Alaska so we are on The Eurodam same suite same everything! She is doing The Med this year! Copper said it best "two sister ships". So we will see! It was the itinerary that we chose. I believe our journey on The Eurodam will be fantastic! We leave on Sept. 2 to Paris and will be in Venice on Oct. 9th for our 11th cruise with HAL! InTheWASide Posted August 23, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 23, 2016 There are differences. I say this as I don't know when Nieuw Amsterdam is doing her dry dock to add the new spaces That said... at present Eurodam has (in order): Gallery Bar, Billboard Onboard, Lincoln Center Stage... and the suite enhancements, interactive TV's in all rooms, etc As of today's date Nieuw Amsterdam does not. It has (in order): Northern Lights, Piano and Casino Bars, Explorer's Lounge If the itineraries are the same you could base it on 2 things: Which public rooms do you want from the above? Do you have a preference of reds, golds, browns and old world art VS blues, tans, silvers and more modern art

She is set up with the Lincoln Center Market Place in the Lido. She was set up before Eurodam! Our cruise was ending end of March and then she went into dry dock in the Bahamas then 2015. Denise:) The Eurodam went thru a 14 day dry dock last December to update the ship to the new standards announced late last year. The Oosterdam went thru the same changes in April 2016 but I do not believe any other HAL ship has seen those changes to date. I believe the Nieuw Amsterdam is scheduled for 2017 sometime. HAL has a schedule for all ships but I don't have it at my fingertips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
