Rhubarbed Posted August 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Is there anywhere onboard where we can borrow board and card games? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ready2cruzagain Posted August 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Check the library. On the Glory in Feb., they had board games.
SadieN Posted August 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Decks of cards are given out at Guest Services and for purchase at the casino. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

TravelingAPor Posted August 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Our kids enjoyed the games, in the Library. We were told, we could buy cards for a $!, in the Casino.

Foxinspace Posted August 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2016 Consider checking on your roll call to see if anyone likes board games. Our family travels with at least 4 games no matter where we go, we'd be happy to group play or loan if you happened to be on our cruise. Might be worth a shot. isaiahsnana Posted August 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 26, 2016 It was the front desk that told me the Casino sells the cards for $1.00. FYI: the casino decks which are $1 have no Jokers so if your game requires those cards, you are out of luck. I play hand and foot and would love to have a bunch of new decks for $1, but really need the jokers.

My 90 yr old motheris addicted. Yes buying a bunch of "full" decks for a dollar would be sweet.

It's not fun to play games with pieces missing.
riffatsea Posted August 26, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 26, 2016 Funny with all the stuff that folks pack in their suitcases you'd think it was pretty easy to throw in a deck of cards?? We bring our own travel backgammon board because we play all the time. There are lots of games available on board but sometimes pieces are missing. OCruisers Posted August 26, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 26, 2016 We always take a deck of cards with us in our carryon bag. Nice to have on the ship but we mostly use when we are stuck in airports and find playing cards amusing.

evandbob Posted August 26, 2016 #17 Share Posted August 26, 2016 Just be aware that some hours for the library are slated for private group meetings. If you a set up for a game 15 minutes before a group is scheduled, you might get asked to leave. Check the Fun Times for events in the Library. GradUT Posted August 27, 2016 #19 Share Posted August 27, 2016 We just got off the Imagination and the library was well-stocked with board games in very good condition. The library is used for many private functions and we were somewhat annoyed that it was closed for these functions on 2 of the 4 evenings we were at sea and during the afternoon as well. On one evening, some board games were taken to the nearby piano bar for the passengers to play, but it was not a great place for board games as the tables were really small. You might want to invest in a few small games (like Bananagrams) or travel-sized versions of games like Scrabble. My daughter won a travel-sized game at the Hasbro Game Show called "Boggle Slam" and it's a lot of fun too. We played these small games a lot on the Imagination cruise. NanciRDH Posted August 27, 2016 #20 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Just had to comment about the free/cheap deck of cards...way back when they used to hand them out as a perk, I think our steward left them in the room for us, it's been ages, so I'm not sure. We took a land vacation this summer, and decided to pack a few board games, and DH found a brand new pack of Carnival cards, still in the wrapper lol!
