MadCruiser89 Posted August 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2016 I received an offer from Casino Royale for access to a beach bash bbq in Cozumel for a sailing that i already have booked. My question is has anyone gone to this before and if so was it worth going? Thanks in advance.
RFerrington Posted August 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2016 I have not been to this so can't comment on the event. I just got a second email for this event (first one maybe a week ago). Maybe they're having trouble filling the ships for this. Normally I don't get ANY emails for casino promos. So hit and miss....
Daghis Posted August 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) If I were on that cruise, I'd sign up. It could be fun. For me, I've not been lucky enough to receive email advertising an event on a cruise on which I was already booked. The closest is my upcoming Liberty of the Seas cruise in October. My sailing is the week after a $10,000 slot tournament cruise. Oh, and maybe you might qualify for promotional (casino rate) pricing on the cruise itself. peymas Posted August 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2016 So madcruiser do you get the $500 off your room if you have already booked the cruise? Is this amount of money normal for these special events?
Life is Good Cruising Posted August 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2016 I received an offer from Casino Royale for access to a beach bash bbq in Cozumel for a sailing that i already have booked. My question is has anyone gone to this before and if so was it worth going? Thanks in advance. Received the invite too for the first time, can't go as we're booked on Anthem at the same time. Last year CR had the same BBQ bash in Cozumel while we were on Anthem, was not invited at that time, but those that did go, said CR did a fantastic job for the event, with unlimited food and drinks, including lobster, a band, activities and more. Since you're already booked for that sailing and the great feedback I heard from others when they returned last year, I would definetly go. CR does go above and beyond for their players at these events. Event will be held rain or shine. The event last year was held at Playa Mia, don't know if it's at the same beach club this year. I do know some CR members that post in the thread below that were at the event if you want additional info. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2225432&page=39 So madcruiser do you get the $500 off your room if you have already booked the cruise? Is this amount of money normal for these special events? Normally CR puts you into their group booking when they have these special events with great discounted cruise fares, even free accommodations. sanantoniored Posted August 27, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2016 Rec'd the email invite. Already had one of the cruises listed on the invite booked, using a CR rate and a certificate from the casino for $$$ off. Figured I could just sign up for the BBQ Bash. Was told CR only allowed one promotion code per booking, so I could either rebook without the certificate at today's higher rate and get the BBQ Bash invite, or keep the current $$$ off and CR rate, but not be allowed to go to the bash. I went last year, great time and class act, but prefer the cheaper rate.
MadCruiser89 Posted August 29, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted August 29, 2016 Just wanted to follow up and say thanks to those that responded. I call CR today and they added me to the BBQ Bash. I had already booked with a casino rate and certificate so i wasn't worried about the rest of the offer. They said all of the info would be in my cabin or to check with the casino host. Thanks again and i'm looking forward to it as it sound like a good time.
canuckcruiselover Posted August 31, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2016 We went to the BBQ two years ago. It was fun but a pretty long day and there's only so much Mariachi you can listen to!! There are a few shops nearby but there's not much else to do except stay on the beach. Food was good but I wouldn't go again.
xtex Posted September 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 10, 2016 We have done this twice and will going again in Dec. Good opportunity to bond with regulars. It is interesting in that it is a cruise where almost everyone in the casino is a member.
sellwingri Posted October 16, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 16, 2016 We also took advantage of this but upgraded to a GS so it wasn't free but very reasonable. The offer I received was for a free ocean view cabin. We're on Liberty in December and will not be going on the Beach Bash. We're just doing Cozumel on our own.
