akeka Posted August 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2016 We're sailing with a couple of adult children who will have charging privileges on our account. Is there a way for Carnival to allow charges everywhere except casino?
riffatsea Posted August 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2016 You could put cash onto their accounts and limit the amount they can spend but not where they spend it. IF they get access to your credit card I don't think you can limit the amount. Folks can get carried away purchasing alcoholic drinks just as easily as they can get carried away spending in the casino so probably the amount is more important if you are watching your budget. SadieN Posted August 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2016 Agree. Cash or gift cards. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
CruiseReg Posted August 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2016 I'm confused. They are adults, can you simply tell them NOT to charge anything in the Casino? If they can't be trusted to follow those instructions, then I suggest you make them pay their own shipboard accounts (cash or credit card). TravelE Posted August 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2016 No. You can limit the daily amount but not where they spend it. Sorry!

DevCruise Posted August 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2016 Why not just put them on their own account tied to their own charge cards?
jgskes Posted August 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2016 I have gone on a credit card with a limit before and they let the charges go above that limit. I was not keeping track so my bad. Luckily I had cash to pay the difference. I was on a cruise 08/13 and knew my limit on my card and I was able to set a limit so I would not go over. I leave all other credit cards at home so I can spend only what I plan. Hope this helps.
poobears Posted August 29, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2016 I assume you are treating them to the cruise and picking up the tab. Since they are adults I would treat them to a certain amount preloaded on their S&S account. Show them how to check their balance during the week so they can track what they have and how they can add more themselves if they want to spend more money. But the first X amount is on you. That way you they can't get carried away in the casino (which is really easy to do). So something along the lines of I have prepaid your S&S account with $200, if you want to spend anything over that you'll have to pay for it yourself. If you have anything left at the end of the week cash it out, it's yours to do whatever you want with it.
Purvis1231 Posted August 29, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2016 Adult kids should have their own account and own money.
