charlie52 Posted September 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2016 We are considering a Princess cruise. Her itineraries look really good and we are tiring of Celebrity. We have not sailed on Princess in 10 years. We switched to Celebrity because of their strict smoking policy. I am extremely sensitive to smoke and cannot tolerate it at all indoors. We tried RC...we were told that they had smoking areas and non smoking areas. I had to laugh when we went to the casino and found that the non smoking area was one side of the room and smoking on the other...problem was no one told the smoke to stay on the non smoking side  Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the policies have changed recently. Thank you, Karen
joeyancho Posted September 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2016 About the same. I believe the casino is non smoking on formal nights. What happens to you in the presence of cigarette smoke?
JF - retired RRT Posted September 6, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2016 They have excellent ventilation on most of the ship casinos. Yes, there's smoke in the casino, but couldn't smell it on the non-smoking side. The other option is to just stay out of the casino.
Rare JimmyVWine Posted September 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2016 Check out the Sticky Post at the top of the Princess Boards: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1559878 The moderators try to limit the smoking discussions to that area so as to prevent the vapors of other threads from wafting all over the Board. floridalover5623 Posted September 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2016 Although the casino smoking hasn't changed much the other parts of the ships have, especially the rooms & balconies. People lighting up in rooms will be reported by the cabin stewards & on the balconies by everyone around them. It really has gotten better.
