mrneil001 Posted September 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) Was on the lido this morning on the Glory and grabbed what I thought was OJ. Tasted funny then looked at the label and it said Orange Drink. Am I wrong or didn't carnival have real OJ in the past? Could have sworn I saw OJ on my last cruise just a few months ago. louanne93 Posted September 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2016 In August there was OJ in the morning on the Miracle. That's awful if they replaced it with something else!
mrneil001 Posted September 25, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) Tang! Yum! Lol! No, not quite.. It's like they made a generic drink to try to taste like OJ but it's not quite there. Edited September 25, 2016 by mrneil001 Edit
sanmarcosman Posted September 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Yes, they were serving reconstituted orange juice from frozen concentrate. OP, please ask the ship's Food Manager if this is a temporary measure or a permanent change. If you ask any food supervisor in the Lido ( wearing whites ) they can direct you to the Food Manager. mrneil001 Posted September 25, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) So I went up to the front lido buffet to refill some water and the juice machine showed orange juice! Now I'm confused.. I'll ask them later this week to see if there's a difference between the two. Time for a alcoholic bev ;) Edited September 25, 2016 by mrneil001

VERY watered down reconstituted orange juice. The "drink" may be an improvement
crusinpsychRN Posted September 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 25, 2016 On Paradise it said orange drink too earlier this month. Tasked like OJ to me.
Domino D Posted September 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Does anyone remember if the machines were still orange juice (from concentrate) and the pre-poured glasses orange drink. A lot of people, especially kids, like Sunny D type drinks. Are they trying to provide both?
Cruise-Crazy Posted September 25, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 25, 2016 End of August on Fantasy it was real OJ, at least in the MDR
siestakeys04 Posted September 25, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I didn't care to much for it when I used to get it out of the machines. So I just stuck with water for breakfast. Guess it will be water again this cruise unless I can find some good can orange oj to take onboard. Can you mix taking a 6 pack of juice and a 6 pack of ginger ale to make the 12 along with a bottle of wine. Rare Saint Greg Posted September 25, 2016 #15 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I only had it once or twice but I'm pretty sure that was OJ on Triumph this month....Otherwise they fooled me.
Rare LMaxwell Posted September 25, 2016 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2016 If it has actual OJ in it, it can be called juice. If it has no OJ and is just flavored water it can't be called juice. Probably a liquid concentrate mixed with water. Like an industrial version of those "mio" water flavor enhancers.

Unless they have changed something in the last 5 or 6 weeks, I have seen them open cartons and fill the containers. The point is that I don't think the staff is mixing or diluting. Sent from my iPad using Forums No. That's not what I meant at all. Although those cartons you see are concentrated juice and are diluted. What I am talking about is a "water enhancer" type flavoring. That would be why something would be called "Orange Drink" and not Orange Juice. Edited September 25, 2016 by LMaxwell

Rare SRQbeachgirl Posted September 25, 2016 #20 Share Posted September 25, 2016 I had the orange "drink" on the Paradise earlier this month and I liked it. No, it wasn't orange juice, but it tasted like a juice blend - sort of orange with a touch of other tropical juices.
meatloafsfan Posted September 26, 2016 #21 Share Posted September 26, 2016 On the Pride they had 2 different varieties: 1. Orange Juice 2. Orange - Guava - Passion fruit blend They were both good; I loved the Guava-passion fruit blend though. A little different and very refreshing.
