Oddities on the Oasis this week

just had a great week on the Oasis! Calmest seas I have ever had in over 40 cruises. Nice crew and the nicest passengers we have ever had on a cruise.

Good shows,,,did not love cats....but that's okay.

A couple of oddities....had $25 extra in charges at a bar at 10:30 one night, five hours after we left there....no explanation.....but refunded.

Food and service good in MDR all week.

Kinda odd getting off today.....had a no. 58.....which suited because of 3 pm flight. Announced 12 numbers...then twice announced a delay getting off the ship due to rainy weather....then suddenly announced all numbers were called and everyone should get off....around 10:30. Oh well.

seemed pretty normal to us we did the walk off the ship at 6:45am and there was no one lined up or anything we thought it was great, customs was about a 10 minute wait and we were in the airport FLL at 7:20 we had a 11am flight so we wanted off early.

I know the last few years they don't seem to make big announcements when debarking

great holiday and yes very calm seas, I have sailed during sept quite a bit over the last few years and always find it calm

Happy sailing

Brian

Casino was good to me

Many people here do not like Cats, not sure why. Perhaps it is because most do not stay for the 2nd half? Perhaps it's the RCCL demographic that prefer real high energy musicals?

I mean, it's back on Broadway, and I first saw it in London in 1984, 1985, and 1987.

You have to say one thing though, Cats has "legs"! :D

RCL D, but yet to sail on RCL? Must be the demographic as we did not particularly enjoyed "We Will Rock You" on the Anthem.

I have not seen Cats on the ship, but I´ve seen it on Broadway. Out of all the many Musicals I´ve seen over the years it was my least favourite. :(

I think a lot of it is about the Music. IMHO cats has only one good song and People know this one song very well and expect the whole Show to be like this, unfortunately it isn´t.

We were on the same sailing. We thought the staff were very nice, our stateroom was amazing (JS). Seemed bigger than most and the bed was so comfy. Chops was very disappointing but coastal kitchen was fabulous. The entertainment was really good. We were disappointed with Cats but watched the whole production.

I forgot to mention, disembarkation was a nightmare. We were #26. Our number was suppose to be called at 9:30 but didn't get called until close to 10:30 with all the other numbers at once. Thousands of people trying to get off the ship at once. When we finally got down to pick up our 4 suitcases they were not there. Spent an hour looking for them. We went back to our number area and found then in the general area. Luggage guy said they were in holding area because there wasn't enough room and they had to wait until there was room. Lots of people cutting in line for customs. It took at least 30 more minutes. Thank God we had 1:30 flight that got delayed until 2:30 pm. This caused us to miss our connecting flight from Dallas to Denver. What a long stressful day. I'm glad we are home!

Self disembarked around 7:30 AM.....very smooth off the ship.....Customs was already backed up....maybe 30 minute wait.

Cats.......was able to get several cat naps in ......not my cup of tea but the performers would good.

Loved Oasis but think I prefer Voyager and Freedom class ships and even some of the smaller classes.

Long time self assist passenger, but on our last Freedom we decided to do numbered debarkation. We had number 3 and were off the ship and through customs in about 20 minutes. Much better than all the lugging luggage and standing in line trying to be off first.

I have high hopes for Oasis when she comes to PC.

Does JS have access to Coastal Kitchen?

Sounds like all the more reason why to Self-disembark! I'm actually thinking of trying the ship to plane (or whatever they call it) where they send your bags straight to the airport.

We used the ship to plane service once when we had a group of 12. Within the group 5 were flying to Las Vegas and 7 were flying home. It was AWESOME!!! If we ever plan to go fly anywhere right off the ship we will always use this service. We had a rental van for the day and dropped the 5 off at the airport and the rest of us spent a few hours at the outlet mall in Orlando. So nice not to have all the luggage to worry about.

Most of our trips we spend a few extra days in Florida and do the self-disembark, which is always pretty quick and painless.

Those 2 will be the only options we use.
