So if you got an extremely great deal on your current cruise, the future discount can be close to non-existent? That would suck.

It would but other posters have said that isn't the way CCL does it. Either way would work for me (I never find those "extremely great deals":o).

If you got such a great deal that the future discount was no existent, then you are currently cruising for 2 times non existent (next to free) yet you still get money on board to spend and a hotel and meals in NYC.

I don't know why the media has such a hard on for the cruise industry. They make an issue when ships sail too close to a hurricane and again when they takes measures to avoid it.

Never hear complaints when broadway shows get an understudy and dinner and a good show tickets could cost as much as a cruise.

Currently on board the pride. Just went to customer service this am to see what my options are.

$250 refundable obc and 50% off seems to be the final offer. They are allowing you to get off the ship here in NYC if you would like, but no further refunds if you do. Their story is the that the $300 fee has been waived so no further discounts. Plently of people are getting off. My question is wouldn't that same fee apply to our return to Baltimore?

I'm staying on the ship having a lovely time and was upgraded from a 4K to a balcony on 8... and planning my next cruise not in hurricane season for some fancy beaches at 50% off :)

I'd be thrilled with this too.

I'm more than satisfied for sure. Even being from buffalo, we hardly ever get the chance to visit NYC. We are docked at pier 88, 6 blocks from Times Square. Loving it!

Very cool attitude...was just a ways from there at a Pier place for a concert..close to a battle ship i did not get to see...you are never done in Big apple and hotel rooms with room service in a great location as you know are horribly high there..so glad you are having a blast. A true traveler.

We were on cruise during hurricane Sandy and received 50% off another cruise. It was not based on the amount of cruise we were on it was 50% off the next one we booked.

That's what we got from our Pride cruise last April. We got 50% off our next cruise on the Pride which was priced higher.

Please realize since it is an act of nature, cruise lines do not have to give you anything!!!!

I would be more than happy to be stranded in NYC on board and would take full advantage of whatever they are willing to give me. You could be bouncing around in an angry ocean being scared of our your wits and getting sea sick. Take the future discounts and be very, very happy that you are safe and dry in NYC.:D

does anyone currently onboard have any insight on where we will be going this sunday?

As of the 5 pm update, Pride will be going to 3 ports in Canada as it is "too dangerous to navigate south."

100% refunds are offered.

if you book a cruise during the height of hurricane season because the rates are cheaper. then you have no right to complain that a hurricane has interrupted your cruise. especially if they gave your the choice of a full refund.

I agree 100%

I took insurance for that purpose. They are lucky they were offered a full refund without paying for the insurance.

Just disembarked. Had a blast. Weather was great, seas were smooth. Would do this again in a heartbeat.

Completely satisfied with the way Carnival handled everything.

Many people got off the ship in NYC. Since Wednesday, there was only 700 people left on the ship.

Yes, we did pay taxes while in NY, and the casino was closed. There was still plenty to do.

The crew went above and beyond.

My final sign and sail bill was only $27. Lol

Sounded like you made the best out of a change of plans. Good for you, some people just don't know how to have fun. Enjoy your future cruise!

Only 700 stayed on the ship!! Amazing! The ship holds 2100. I can't believe so many people were stupid enough to leave. Why wouldn't people want a cruise to the heart of Manhattan instead of going into a hurricane? I just don't get it. Glad everybody who stayed had a wonderful time.
