Hey! We're on the 10/13 Valor too. We've been to HMC before, and know that it's an amazing paradise. And, hope that if we skip it we don't end up in Freeport.

EDIT--UGH!!! After checking the 10/8 Valor roll call, I see that they are staying in Nassau for 2 days in lieu of going to HMC. Nooooo!

Google Cable Beach in Nassau. You can get there by bus or taxi. Has a great beach, restaurants, hotel and a casino.

You can make lemonade out of your lemon.

Thanks for the suggestion. But we've been to Nassau probably 20 times on various cruises, and have done just about everything they have to offer: various beaches, snorkeling excursions, van tour of island, walking tour of downtown, Straw Market, Atlantis...

It's not a thrilling port, and I can't imagine having to spend 2 days there.

Stayed at the resort there at Cable Beach for our honeymoon 30 years ago. Have to agree it was a great place and I'm sure even better now. Gotta make lemonade out of those lemons. ;)

You don't mention going to Cable Beach though. That could take care of one day anyway.

Your choice, is that lemonade glass half full or half empty. How many times do we read on CC that your cruise is what you make it to be?

It could be worse. They could have added Freeport.

We took a cab over there $3 pp and it saved a subpar trip. Water was excellent and locals weren't too pushy. Had a great time.

Found this, which doesn't have a lot of info, but it does say that the first expected call post Hurricane Matthew to Half Moon Cay is scheduled for October 15. Damage must be fairly minimal. We are supposed to be there on October 30 and haven't been yet, so we're definitely hoping it's intact and ready for us!

John Heald did a LIVE post to fb this morning.

He says HMC had some wind damage - and needs some clean up but that ships will start to call again on HMC beginning with the Valor itinerary this Saturday, the 15th.

I'm so glad to hear HMC is intact and the horses are safe. My cabana booking for November is safe. Whew! Love that little piece of paradise.
