Athens airport to cruise port

I need to get to the cruise port from the airport. I will have two bags and a backpack. What are the best options to get to the port?

A quick look down the board would reveal the common recommendation to take a cab.

I agree, take a cab. They train is not a direct shot from the airport, so it takes a long time and it's honestly not that much cheaper..

The express bus runs from the airport to Syntagma square then you can take another bus to Pireaus. It;s not all that speedy but it's pretty cheap. Just make sure to check the schedule for transportation strikes as all public transports will close. The strikes are scheduled pretty far in advance.

Contact Civitavecchia Cab Service, we have used them about 4 times, say you want to join a group to the port and you found info on Cruise Critic. Give them you date, time flight number and airline and ship you are leaving on. You will be very happy with them. They have never let us down and were there waiting for us with a sign. We have also used them port to airport. The cost was approx. 15.5 Euros cash.

We dropped a car at the airport and took the bus. It took about 45 minutes but we were in no rush. Lots of room. We had carry on only but there were others with bags. We had time to kill so this was a great alternative.

We took the X96 bus from the airport with our luggage. Then got a taxi for 6 Euro to our ship (at the end of the port). The bus drops you across the street from the main ferry exit so there are lots of taxis waiting.

 

Just make sure they know you are going to the ship, they kept trying to take us back to the airport!
