Does Carnival still offer the free bottle of wine for booking the first night at the steakhouse?

I can speak only to the Magic and the Breeze, and the answer is yes.

 

The offer that we found more enticing on the first night was half price on any bottle of wine.

 

Though you didn't ask, the beef carpaccio and the escargot are both just plain good!

We thought the chardonnay was awful and pretty much left it alone.

I know pretty much nothing about wine. My friends I was with agree with you so we opted for the discount off a better wine.

Our last 3 cruises the free wine has been the Santa Carolina Merlot or Santa Catalina Chardonnay. The merlot is not that bad. The Chardonnay is undrinkable.

On the Breeze now. Went to the steakhouse on the first night (the 16th) and got two bottles at 50% off and bought them to the room. No problem.

Yeah , to get you to come to the Steakhouse. While it is not screaming eagle, it ain't all that bad. The option is 50% off anything on the wine list.

Just booked as a Christmas gift to boy of my favorite boys..

DH & DS for upcoming cruise... (we each buy a small gift for stockings)

We just returned from the Magic today. We went to the steak house the first night and bought 3 bottles of wine from their wine list. All very nice for our taste. We were able to take them to our room and to the MDR for the rest of the week. It was great and they lasted us the entire week. Can't beat it.

It may work out that way my re often than not, but to keep confusion down for newbies, it's the first and second night of the cruise.
