Royal Caribbean Luggage Tags: I just printed my Set Sail pass and then checked the Crown & Anchor page about luggage tags. In the past, RCL has always mailed the tags to Diamond Plus Suite Guests. The RCL online check-in page says "Luggage Tags" (see bottom of check-in page) "Royal Caribbean's Ship Luggage Tag Program provides you with personalized luggage tags before leaving home. To the right of this statement it says "print luggage tags." I called Crown & Anchor and was told this program was discontinued in April yet a cruise I took in May, the tags were mailed to my home.

The problem I have is RCL requires the tags to be printed in color (rather hard to do with a B&W printer). It seems to me that Royal Caribbean is going cheap on its cruisers by discontinuing this service. The problems with printing my own luggage tags are 1) flimsy paper; 2) B&W tags.

It used to be an option to print or have them mailed and as an amenity of being in a suite, the luggage tags were mailed.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to Cruise Critic...Just an FYI don't use your screen name for the title of a thread you're starting...Looks like you had a question about "helicopterpilot"

No more mailed luggage tags...and not necessary to print them yourself...you can easily get them from the luggage porter's...fill them out...and put them on your bags...when you get to the cruise terminal.

Enjoy your cruise.

They most likely left the thread title blank, in which case it defaults to the screen name of the OP.

They are not required to be printed in color - we have used black and white printed tags for many cruises. You will not have a problem with that. The way they print out they are folded several times which makes them strong enough to function properly once attached. This print it yourself policy has been in effect for several years with the exception of suite guests. Diamond Plus is not included as we have been D+ for several years and have not received them on numerous cruises.
