Paying to upgrade after Final Payment - Keep perks?

Thinking of calling to see if I can upgrade from a balcony to a mini-suite. Thinking the only real difference is going to be a larger bathroom, but that's okay. It looks like the mini-suite is $30 per person more than what I booked my balcony for.

 

When I booked it was under Kids Sail Free and also got Free Ultimate Bev Package. If I call to pay for the upgrade to a mini-suite will I also keep my perks?

Upgrade will lose the current promos you have and you get the new promos.... also it will change your booking date so you would lose any Latitude Bonus for early booking. Plus you "may" incur the cancelation penalty from the balcony booking

What is upsell? I am interested in doing this also, move up to a large bal, perks offered are the same.

We were just on the Jewel and we paid to upgrade and didn't loose any perk. We also still received 14 points for the week for booking early. We upgraded the day prior to sailing.

 

 

Agreed. Did the same thing without lost of perks or point values. (Booking number remained the same. This was not a cancellation and rebooking). Upgrades are allowed anytime even after final payment without any penalties attached.

This is incorrect information. You do not lose anything with a paid upgrade. In spite of myths rampant on CC, it is not a cancel and rebook, it is simply an upgrade.

Make sure you have proof printed of your original perks.

 

We upsold from balcony to the haven and our UBP and dining disappeared off our booking. We were in the Caribbean and booked through the UK.

 

NCL emailed the office who said no we didn't have the UBP or dining. I ended up calling NCL UK who said yes it was all there and got them to talk to the boat. Took two days to clear it up!

 

They did say just use your cards and order drinks normally, I was just a bit scared with getting whacked by a big bar bill!
