Are Umbrellas provided?

Viking River provides umbrellas in case of rain and I expect the ocean division is the same. However I want to make sure before we pack our umbrellas.

On our Rhine Cruise this May, umbrellas were at the ramp as you exited the ship along with bottles of water. I'm curious about Ocean as well.

Yes, umbrella are provided. I can't remember if they are in your closet but for sure, you can grab them at the gangway (and return them there as well instead of having to deal with a wet umbrella in your cabin).

 

But they are large umbrellas and you may wish to bring something you can tuck into a bag when it is not in use rather than to always have it in your hands.

I did end up buying a small Viking umbrella to easily carry on light rain days. The Viking umbrellas are great, but as Peregrina said, they are large and the handles don't collapse. And even on the more rainy days, it was nice to each have one without carrying two large umbrellas.
