Ovation Flowrider bookings

Gidday!

Cruising in less than 60 days and have been trying to book flowrider for a while now, not happening, can get the item to my cart but when it comes to select dates, nothing, grr...

Have been able to book ifly, shows & packages.

Are there a certain number of spaces for bookings prior to cruise and the rest allocated once on board?

Thank you

TraceyG :)

Just got off Ovation cruise from Tianjin. Flowrider was just a line, first come first serve when it was open - just like the rock climbing wall. You can book lessons online, but just to ride is open.

If you have any other questions, let me know. Like I said, just got off the boat 10/29

As above, you don't need to make a booking for general use, just join the line when it's open.

Normally you can book private lessons at a charge if you want, but there looks to be some issue where it's not set up (or maybe they haven't finalised the charge amount) so it's showing but not finalising at the moment.

If you're interested in a group lesson, those should be able to be booked online in advance.

They usually require at least 4 participants (or they move you to another time or cancel) and you will share an hour with instruction from a sports staff member. If memory serves the cost was $69.00.

They can have up to 8 people at a maximum I believe.

However if you want to rent the entire wave for yourself (& or friends) by the hour, that can only be done on-board and is much more $$$.

You can do it with instruction at an additional cost or just the wave if you know how to ride without assistance.

If you're interested just head up to the sports desk where you'll have to go anyway to get a wristband to verify that you've signed the waivers.

I usually like the times in the morning before the wave opens for general riding, or you can pick from a lot of times when the ship's in port, or you can choose the evening sessions.

Have fun!

Hi Tom, I'm cruising on Ovation on 9/1/17- can't find any recent reviews online.... did you dine at any of the speciality restaurants? Anything you recommend? Cheers

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We did not try the specialty restaurants. We ate at the 4 complimentary ones and Coastal Kitchen as we were in a suite. American Icon and Chic were just OK, Grand and Silk were pretty good. We did go to a reception where some of the specialty restaurants catered the event. The sushi from Izumi was good.

Tom - we board Ovation in Hong Kong in a week and a half, and are eager to read more about this ship. As roslyn01 mentioned, we cannot find any recent reviews on-line.

So here are a few more questions for you:

1. What type of entertainment was offered onboard? And did you have to reserve seats in advance? (There is no information online about what is offered, and cannot reserve).

2. Did you visit the casino? If yes, would you be able to share the table limits? And was it really smoky?

3. How was your suite and the amenities?

Will you post a review? We would love to read about your experience.

Thanks in advance for sharing.

A lot of things could change (including items 1 & 2) once the ship leaves it's usual Chinese routes.
