ohioblue52 Posted November 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Our first time on the Glory, Whats your favorite bar, or any other place or thing to do? DIL loves Guy's burgers... that's the reason we booked. I just like a nice place for a drink before dinner or any other time.:D;):p
Sixtytwo Posted November 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2016 We have gone to the Atrium bar for pre-dinner drinks and enjoy it. Usually some form of live music playing and folks gathered around enjoying themselves. We also will drop by the casino bar on our way to dinner as well. Butterbean1000 Posted November 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Alchemy Bar, hands down. We spent a of time there. The bartenders automatically started our drinks before we sat down.
ohioblue52 Posted November 14, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Gonna have to try the alchemy bar. Never spent much time at the atrium, got many a drink there on other ships, but was just passing thru, usually the first bar I hit upon embarkation. Lyn3165 Posted November 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2016 We loved the alchemy bar! They have a wonderful dish of olives, cheese and nuts you get when you have a cocktail. They will also invent a drink for you if you tell them what you like!
Rare patrice1 Posted November 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 15, 2016 (edited) Both the Alchemy and the Atrium. We did the Atrium while waiting to go in to dinner and the music, as you go in right behind it for YTD. And we did the Alchemy for pre-dinner & post-dinner fun! ohioblue52 Posted November 15, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Does the alchemy bar only serve martini's, is it a kind of specialty bar?
MMastell Posted November 15, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Alchemy Bar. It is primarily a martini bar but try some of the drinks and you will not be disappointed. It is not a Sports Bar but a great place to meet people and interact with the mixologists. Remember: The drinks are strong so you don't want to sample too many drinks. Then again, maybe you do. ;) Have fun, Mike
ohioblue52 Posted November 15, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted November 15, 2016 My drink preference is pretty simple, bourbon on ice, scotch neat. As fancy as I usually get is gin and tonic with a slice of lime. I love meeting new people on cruises, am not too much of a sports fan, though I do like football, but don't have much time to watch until the weather turns cold for the duration of the winter. ohioblue52 Posted November 15, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted November 15, 2016 I will be looking forward to the superbowl while onboard. This will be the third time we've cruised during the superbowl, and for me it is a GREAT way to watch it. No getting up to get your own drink, and missing something. Plenty of snacks that you don't have to fix yourself, and plenty of people to watch with.
BNBR Posted November 15, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 15, 2016 The bar isn't that great, but I enjoyed grabbing drinks at the Serenity bar and enjoying on the Serenity deck.
slydog75 Posted November 16, 2016 #13 Share Posted November 16, 2016 The Redfrog Rum bar and BlueIguana don't get any love? We're leaving on the Glory Saturday and I was pretty excited to check these out.

BNBR Posted November 16, 2016 #15 Share Posted November 16, 2016 The Redfrog Rum bar and BlueIguana don't get any love? We're leaving on the Glory Saturday and I was pretty excited to check these out. These are ok. They are basically the pool bars in the middle of the pool deck. There is a bar Lido Aft near the adult pool that I found almost never busy, plenty of seating, and a relaxed vibe with outdoor and ocean views. Plus stairs right behind it to head up a deck if you want to be more outside. I probably got most of my drinks there.
ohioblue52 Posted November 17, 2016 Author #16 Share Posted November 17, 2016 Lido Aft sounds good during the day, Redfrog Rum bar and BlueIguana are good also. Like the red frog ale and the pub grub across deck at BlueIguana . I think I will make Alchemy my after 5:00 bar:D
jerseyjjs Posted November 17, 2016 #17 Share Posted November 17, 2016 Sky Box sports bar if you're sailing during football season.
dkb15732 Posted November 17, 2016 #18 Share Posted November 17, 2016 When my husband and I wanted to find our son we knew we only had to walk past the alchemy bar. We all 3 liked to sit down for a pre-dinner drink at the atrium bar and then order drinks to go to carry into the dining room. The Rum bar was our favorite if we were on deck and then liked to end with a nightcap at the quiet uncrowded lido aft bar before bed.
Jamericannn Posted November 17, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 17, 2016 I would definitely say Alchemy but because you want to be there while watching football I would do the SkyBox Sports bar. This way you can chat with other sports enthusiasts.
BNBR Posted November 17, 2016 #20 Share Posted November 17, 2016 On my Oct 15th Glory cruise, I don't think I ever saw a bartender or single person in the Skybox Sports Bar. It was essentially closed. TV's were on, but nothing going on.

queenofthebalcony Posted November 30, 2016 #22 Share Posted November 30, 2016 Is Feb. 5th still football season :D Unfortunately, that is SuperBowl Sunday. We sailed on Super Bowl day on a previous cruise. A whole bunch of drunken sailors. I am not sure why, but seems like everyone needs to drink more if their team in playing. It was crazy. Big screens were set up everywhere in all the public places on the ship. YOu couldn't get away from it. I hope our next cruise will be a bit calmer.
