!!SAM!! Posted November 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2016 We haven't been on Royal in about three years. We are big casino players. Will someone please update me on how the casino players are rated, comps, etc on Royal? Thank you
pedirn Posted November 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2016 Are you an M Life member. Perks can be obtained by coordinating member numbers....drinks...dinners etc depending on level.
troykahack Posted November 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2016 Are you an M Life member. Perks can be obtained by coordinating member numbers....drinks...dinners etc depending on level. What value does M Life add if you only use it on the ships. What other Casinos does it apply too outside of MGM Properties??

No we are not. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, we are on cruise ships about 20 weeks out of the year. Doesn't leave much time for land casinos, which we have none close to our home.

We go to land Casinos but I believe it only is helpful on/in MGM Properties which we seldom frequent. When we travel to Vegas, we stay and play in other properties. So, would M Life be helpful for us??

pedirn Posted November 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2016 When we go to Las Vegas we usually stay in CET properties but play more at MGM properties. Also play MyVegas online (5 different games) and earn "gold coins" that can be used for free rooms, shows, food, drinks, etc at MGM properties world wide. I am envious...20 weeks a year on a cruise ship. We average 4-6 weeks a year. I tease my husband all the time I am going through withdrawal as I only have three cruises booked between now and July. But my girls are talking about a "girls trip" so number four might be coming.

Are you suggesting that we bring our M cards on the cruise? Can we earn points for playing on the cruise ship?
sellwingri Posted November 16, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) Your casino benefits actually will be best via Casino Royale. It'll be based on your play during your cruise. Based on your playing time and amount, you may be asked to join at the end of your cruise. You may be given free or discounted cruises in the future. You'll also be eligible for free drinks in the casino on future cruises. I play cards (usually just the minimum) and have gotten great benefits/free cruise offers. I'm an MLife member but have never gotten any benefits from them on the ship. I have gotten limited benefits in Vegas. pedirn Posted November 16, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 16, 2016 Okay. You need to call Casino Royale prior to cruise. They will verify your status with M Life. Then when you board, introduce yourself to casino host. You will earn points on play for MLife and Casino Royale will also track you. Best of both worlds. I wish I could figure out how to post picture I posted previously in larger format. It list benefits on the ship depending on status. Also when going to Las Vegas or any MGM property (or you can email them proof) show proof of Diamond status or above on RCCL and get upgraded to gold (before you even spent a penny). Diamond Plus becomes Platinum. It continues to go up as you status increases on RCCL. Not sure I am explaining this properly but I know on last cruise we got five free drinks and dinner for two at specialty restaurant. Chris

sellwingri Posted November 16, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 16, 2016 I was excited when I saw the info on the posted link and thought that as a gold MLife card holder,I would also qualify for 5 free drinks and a free speciality dinner on my upcoming cruise. After going back and forth between Casino Royale and MLife, I found out that you only qualify for the benefits on one and not the other. Guess I'm staying with Casino Royale since I get all drinks free in the casino and a practically free cruise.

Life is Good Cruising Posted June 2, 2017 #18 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Received the attached on Grandeur this past week. Very familiar with the point system. What I never understood is for every 400 points, CR is giving you $100 off a cruise of your choice. It seems to me, the more points you get, the less $ money you are getting off a cruise, see example below: 2000 points=$500 off 2400 points= an inside cabin on the select certificate sailings or $500 off any other sailing, why not $600 off, if every 400 points gives you a $100 off. 3600 points= an oceanview or $750 off, why not $900 off, if every 400 points gives you a $100 off. 4800 points= a balcony or $1000 off, why not $1200 off, if every 400 points gives you a $100 off. I have asked CR before about this and they said, it's just the way it is
bmac1 Posted June 2, 2017 #19 Share Posted June 2, 2017 The major change they made recently is that to use the certificate for a free room it must be booked within 30 days after that it becomes just a predetermined discount on a cruise which does not come close to the value of the free room certificate. Example a certificate for a free balcony room is only worth $1,000 towards a future cruise if not used within 30 days.

On my cruise last September, I received a certificate for a free cruise but didn't use it within 30 days. When I booked my upcoming cruise about six weeks ago for a cruise later this month, the free room offer was honoured.
Rare Shippy Posted June 2, 2017 #21 Share Posted June 2, 2017 We are not 'big' casino players but do go to the casino quite a bit & place slots We have been Club Royale members for along time. I felt the 'old club' was more generous but this one is still not to bad. We cruise Royal once a year. When I find a cruise we like, I call Club Royal & they give us half off a Grand Suite every time. I do not pay attention to the so called points. I think it is up to whoever helps you. sellwingri Posted June 3, 2017 #23 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Rates given by Casino Royale for cruises are close to half off the published rates. Thanks to them, I've been cruising frequently; 4 cruises in the last 6 months with 4 more in the next 9 months. As long as I earn 1000 points on my last cruise, I'll continue to be a Casino Royale member and enjoy free drinks in the casino but I usually earn enough for a free cruise. I love to play cards, Ultimate Texas Holdem or 3-card poker, and enjoy my benefits. I'd be in the casino even if I didn't earn benefits but I wouldn't cruise as often. What's worse is DH got the 4800 cert and I got a lower one and we couldn't combine on a cruise as they listed different ships and sail dates depending on the certificate earned! So much for them being combinable
egurbi Posted June 3, 2017 #25 Share Posted June 3, 2017 I am Platinum on MLife, but unfortunately already booked and paid for my upcoming cruise without referring to my status. Will they "tack on" the benefits described or is it for new bookings only?
