I tried that once when I had the card. I was told that I had to be playing at a table or machine to order a drink.

 

I have heard this as well so that is why I asked that member for more detail. It defeats the purpose of promoting gaming activity if people with the card can saunter around to get their drinks at the bar and not while gaming.

It worked for me on the Magic Ultra cruise in November and the Glory Journeys cruise in January. It helps if the server knows you from serving you before in the casino. The key is to order from a server, not the bartender.

Yes, you are supposed to be playing to use your DOU cards but the servers aren't that concerned. A bartender may or may not honor your drink order. They won't when the casino isn't open. Being known as a tipper gets me drinks when I may be just wandering or watching casino action.

Just off the Conquest today. I finally hit my 1500 points around 11 last night, so I got my DOU card, and was able to take advantage of one Diet Coke. Lol.
