Drinks on us

How many points on your last cruise does it take to get the drinks on us card at the start of the cruise I was told its 5,000 it that correct:confused:

Our last cruise was a 7 day, and we both got the DOU card at 1,500 points. Here is a rule of thumb for the card:

  • On your current cruise (6 days or more), when you earn 1500 points playing the slots notify the casino host and you will be issued a Drinks On Us Card.

  • On your current cruise (4-5 days), When you earn 1000 points playing the slots notify the casino host and you will be issued a Drinks On Us Card.

  • On your current cruise (3 days or less), ask the casino host or pit boss for free drinks as there are no Drinks On Us Cards available.

The figure of 5,000 points is where (in my experience) you will start receiving Bounce Back Offers for free (or reduced fare) cruises.

Good Luck!

Yes, 5000 points on your last to cruise to get a DOU card at the start of your next cruise.

Does that mean if I get a Bounce Back, I will automatically get a DOU when I take that cruise? I was on the Paradise early this month, got the Bounce Back & am using it for a 5 day on the Sunshine Dec 26th. I've earned and used a Bounce Back before & I don't think I was given a DOU card. Do you have to ask for it at the Cash Desk?

Depends on the bounce back offer…. if the offer specifically states that you get the card (ex: PMI offer) it will be waiting for you when you get on the cruise. "Lesser" bounce back offers (ex: PMB) don't state that the offer comes with free drinks and the card will then have to be "re-earned" on the cruise. If you gamble a fair amount, you can often "earn" the card after the first night.

For slots its $2.50 coin in per point earned. So 3,750 dollars in to get drinks on us card for slot play on a 7 day cruise.

But the key in that phrase is "coin in" which includes both your cash and the credits that you play back into the machine.

I usually take $50 a day to play with and usually get to 1500 points by day 3. However, I don't chase points for the DOU card anymore since if you've also purchased Cheers any of the DOU drinks count toward your 15.

Thanks for the info - mine is the PMB, but I'm sure I'll earn the points by day two or three. Since I've had the drink package on the last few cruises I never bothered with the DOU, but I don't think I'm getting the package this time, so I'll keep up with my points.

We were told by the person issuing us our cards that the DOU drinks did not count towards your 15.

Be aware that some of us call Carnival Casinos DOU the " Cocktail Server MIA " promotion

That was not my experience last month on the Splendor. Although, I'm not a big drinker, I found the servers to be quite attentive. I did tip $1.00 each time they brought me a drink so maybe that made a difference. In fact, I was not paying attention to my points at all and a server is who brought it to my attention.

Why do you assume I do not tip? Tips got me through college, lady.

Because you complained of lack of service..that mean's either not tipping or bad attitude. Those are the only people who are bypassed when the casino wait staff return to me every 15 minutes.

You're wrong, I didn't complain about service I mentioned the lack of staff to serve drinks which is an issue with the management and not the guests.

When the wait staff goes missing (and yes, I tip $1 per drink, even a bottle of water), I go find them, usually at the service end of the bar. I order my drink from the server, they ring it up and hand it to me. Not ideal but it works for me.

You leave your place while gambling when you are on the DOU promotion?

I tried that once when I had the card. I was told that I had to be playing at a table or machine to order a drink.

Eight day cruises seem to be the worst. By day 6 or 7, there are a lot of people with the DOU card so the servers are real busy.
