I have been to the private island which is the best part of the cruise for me. I just cannot remember if you use cash or your room key to purchase cocktails at the beach. Does anyone know?

UBP works on the island so I'm going to say room key.

 

I don't know if that applies to the party boat excursion. That seems to be cash only.

All bars are run by the ship's bartenders and you use your room key to purchase drinks. The only cash accepted on the island is at the small straw market.

No cash needed for ordering or getting drinks (LOL - not everyone has/purchased one or more beverage program or has the "Free At Sea") - all you need is your Guest Key Card. Cash are only for buying items from the "vendors" offering souvenirs on GSC.

 

AFAIK, things not changing with the recent upgrade/enhancement ... last time we're able to tender ashore, we just paid/signed for our Clamshell on the spot as we waited & didn't go thru Shorex Desk while onboard.

No cash is needed unless you plan to purchase something from the "local" vendors that will be selling stuff....none of which is a "must have" (IMO!)
