Anniexrec Posted December 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2016 How do you bid on getting an upgraded cabin?
Sand and Seas Posted December 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2016 Are you asking about the new system? Currently its only for Getaway and Escape cruises but may move to all ships in the future. Some will receive an email with an invitation to bid on cabin categories one and two levels above your current cabin. There are a couple of threads on this system already you can search for. brookie848 Posted December 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2016 We received an email (we're on the Getaway) inviting us to bid about 80 or so days out. We are in a Haven cabin, so I'm sure they went to us first. If you booked through a TA, there is a chance your TA does not participate in the program. If this is the case, you will not be eligible to bid on an upgrade.
Sand and Seas Posted December 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2016 We are on the Escape in a Balcony. We also received an email about 80 days prior to sailing inviting us to bid on Mini-suites and Haven. From what we have read here on CC, NCL usually waits until about a week prior to sailing to accept and award bids. I think if they accept it much earlier than that someone probably bid much more than they needed to.
MikeBTN Posted December 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2016 How do you bid on getting an upgraded cabin? If you are on the Escape or Getaway, you'll get an email exactly 80 days from sailing inviting you to bid. If you did not receive the email, you can try to call the upsell department and see if they'll send one out to you. They may or may not. If you booked with a travel agent, many (if not most) are not yet part of the Upsell Advantage process and you will not be able to bid if your TA has opted out of the program.
