CarnivalPlatCruiser Posted December 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2016 DONT GET A ROOM IN THE 14th FLOOR (SPA CABIN) ON THE VISTA. ONLY TWO ELEVATORS ON THE WHOLE SHIP GO TO THE 14th FLOOR AND THEY KEEP ONE OF THEM CLOSED, FOR STAFF USE, 90% OF THE TIME! Elevator wait for the 14th floor is always a 10 minutes or so. The whole elevator system needs revamped actually... Unlike most other ships, while there is 6 elevators at each section of the ship.... Every 2 have its own button... because of this... Everyone presses all 3 buttons and takes the first one that comes, leaving the other two lit when they leave... So when your on an elevator, they stop at every floor, as their is almost always lit buttons... And no one gets on... But especially, don't get a cabin on the 14th floor. lol
geovet Posted December 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2016 You can take the other four elevators up to 12 and walk up one. Good to work off some of that food. Lol
Sixtytwo Posted December 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2016 We use the stairs where there aren't any buttons!:D
Je Souhaite Posted December 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2016 That's nothing new. Even on the old Holiday class vessels, the rear elevators only went up to the 8th floor, and you had to walk up a flight to get to the Lido Deck Fantasy class had something similar on the fore lifts. SadieN Posted December 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Just off the Inspiration. Each call button only called the elevators on their side. All the Princess ships we've sailed have only certain elevators (2 out of 4) that either go all the way up or down to the 'hidden' MDR.

Computer Nerd Posted December 15, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Nope. Have you ever checked hotel floors? There is usually not a 13th. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Being born and married on Friday the 13th I can assure people there is no bad luck involved with the number 13.

CarnivalPlatCruiser Posted December 16, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted December 16, 2016 How many seperate threads are there going to be on your displeasure about the Vista? Since this is a specific issue and may save someone with disabilities a ton of difficulty, and isn't really a "review or displeasure" I thought it worthy of its own thread. Don't like it... don't read it.

serene56 Posted December 16, 2016 #18 Share Posted December 16, 2016 How many seperate threads are there going to be on your displeasure about the Vista? as many as it takes-- people who are not sailing Vista might just scroll by a full review because of the amount of pages it is on-- but small posts like this will be read more

Rare crewsweeper Posted December 16, 2016 #22 Share Posted December 16, 2016 And I noticed that only 1 of those 2 elevators continues up to the Serenity Deck (15), probably the one that's shut down for crew use.:D:eek: Guess folks not staying in a spa cabin (decks 11 forward, 12, and 14) will have to climb 2 or more sets of stairs to reach that. Might make it a tad less crowded.
MarcelLucSell Posted December 17, 2016 #23 Share Posted December 17, 2016 We found the same on SunShine. We had Spa Cabin on 12, and only 2 elevators went up, of which one was 1/2 time not in service. Our next cruise on SunShine, we did spa cabin on 10. Access to all elevators, including the glass ones, our favourites. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920AZ using Forums mobile app
Mooguy Posted December 17, 2016 #24 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Just off Vista Friday and we too had a deck 14 spa cabin. We thought the elevators were very small even though max capacity says 18, we never got close to that but several times felt very crammed as well as very HOT on them. You usually deal with packed elevators the first day and last day of cruise but this time it was like that the entire cruise. We would usually take the elevator to floor 12 if not lucky enough to catch one of the two that went to 14 and walk up one level, same for going down.
