setsail Posted December 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Just a little info Getting on was a breeze, did our pics at the desk, no delay as you go there anyway Had a GS on deck 8, very nice cabin but way to much furniture which took up all the floor space and only left narrow paths for walking around. Our friends had a JS and it was way more open, tons more floor space. Would not book the JS though because we like certain perks that come with the full suite We used luggage valet and it was free to suites The shows we saw were all good except the comedy. The guy was terrible. We had a bumpy 4 days and lots of show times were changed or moved, Mother Nature took over with lots of wind. First time we have seen upper decks closed on o class My wife did all the slides, rci has created second childhoods for lots of adults:D We used both lounges. At night we wound up using the diamond club mostly, more comfortable seating, great bar staff, extra good pours and the way the seating is arranged it's more user friendly than the suite lounge. The crowd in the DC was very friendly and lively. We used the SL during the day to get a beer or wine, starts at 11 Only visited the mdr once for the lunch time salad. We were seated at a large table and the others there used the mdr for all meals and were not happy, but did add it improved some as the week went on. We ate in the coastal kitchen or SR's at night. The best thing I had in CK was the flounder. The steak was so so. You can only get the filet night 1:( In chops the service was terrible but the food was great if you could get it. We ordered 3 filets,1 chop, for 4 of us. 1 steak was sent back and done perfectly the 2nd time. Long story short, our meal took 3hrs 15 min and we did not even finish desert. I had a talk with the manager and we were taken care of. We don't know if the problem was our waiter or service or a combo. We had steak and pasta in Jamie's. I will just say the pasta was good, no filet on th menu This ship is even more busy than o/a. In a typical week on this ship there are 800 activities, if you blink, you missed something Our bed was great, the cabin was so cold we had to turn the air back to the end of the blue line. On the other hand, our friends Cabin was warm and the ac had to be worked on, coils frozen up. The HD took care of them We also used our drink coupons to get drinks on the way to eat, good bar service. The suite sun deck is finished nicely, good bar service, and there is a hot tub up there. You can get all the pool towels up there you need for anywhere on the ship, involves a few extra steps The solarium is very nice, we walked through there and looked around but did not use. On the center left are the misters and on the center right is a very nice hot tub. We used the casino some, did very well at the spinning wheel;) Getting off was also easy, we got the C's escort service, one of those perks we like. They offered 3 times on this ship, 8,9,10. We used 9 and were off the ship and sitting at our gate in the airport in 53 min Overall, wonderful ship, another home run by rci. We also had pepper at all our meals:p Edited December 20, 2016 by setsail
setsail Posted December 20, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Also did a bridge tour, great info and Capt. Johnny showed up We did a galley tour and it was terrible, not because of rci but some of the people on the tour. We wound up seeing very little of the kitchen and the chef took us back out to the mdr to answer some questions Also, about 2/3 of the sl/CK area is being used for the CK. I counted the seating for the sl and it was 60 depending on if you wanted to squeeze more in on the 2 or 3 sofas Edited December 20, 2016 by setsail
cruizinmimi Posted December 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2016 We ate in the CK (coastal kitchen) twice during the week for dinner. Excellent service and food both nights. I loved the Coastal Kitchen.

I loved the Coastal Kitchen. It's really a nice touch by rci and the crew they put up there are so nice. Miss the flatbread. When we got on the ship I went straight to the hostess in CK and she made all our resi's for the week, up there and the SR's. Bob, everywhere we ate the shaker was on the table, if you wanted ground the waiter took care of it. We also ate in the windjammer the last night and we all agreed it was very good with a lot of choice. The crew was coming around all the time, getting drinks, clearing our table, asking how our meal was and could they do anything. Really great service Edited December 20, 2016 by setsail
setsail Posted December 20, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) More, if harmony is completely full of fuel it can go a full month if it has to While there is fueling, there is no smoking on any open deck, even boarding day. Also they had the fuel barge along side in st. Maarten and there was no smoking there also. 1 of our party used the smoking section and had to go to the casino Also saw very few smoking in the casino, although you could smell some smoke. The tables did not seem busy at all. They had a couple times that the min bet was knocked down and then the blackjack tables were full Harmony has the ability to make fresh water from salt but they have yet to do that on this ship as they carry enough fresh water There were also over 1000 children on our cruise. ThirstyCruiser Posted December 21, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 21, 2016 On our HotS cruise (12/3/16) multiple people complained about the comedians being not funny. And several threads over the past few weeks have said the same thing. We skipped it as a result. I know there are few things more difficult than getting up on stage and trying to make people laugh, but it does sound like RCL has got to get a new comedian for HotS. "Is this thing on......hello?!" There is only 1 comedian per week and he or she does all the shows that week. Simeon, the host, does a 5-10 minute warm up. At the end of the week that guest comedian leaves and another boards the ship.

There were two comedians for the first week's show and only one for the second week. None of them were very good; poor timing, lame jokes, etc. Simeon is the absolute funniest person on the high seas. Back2Back TURNAROUND PROCESS: The Harmony Guest Services has designed a wonderful turnaround process during which we never left the ship. The 160 of us reported to the Main Dining Room and were theoretically "locked in". As we entered we "dinged off" the ship using our old sea pass cards, were given new cards by agents from the terminal, were seated and processed back "onto the ship" by roaming terminal agents with iPads, waited a while until "zero count" was reached, formed a line to show a customs agent our Passport, and walked out the Dining Room door and were free to enjoy the ship. We have done many turnarounds and this was the best. KUDOS to the Harmony. Edited December 21, 2016 by beachnative

Nov 12 was the first full 7 night sailing. I am sure you have just mistyped the dates. :) What were the dates of your B2B? Hope I did not miss you on the Nov 12 sailing which I was on. Rare A&L_Ont Posted December 21, 2016 #19 Share Posted December 21, 2016 Does the comedian have the same 'act' every show? or does he/she change it up throughout the week. We only go once to the comedy club during a cruise. However we have seen the same comedians numerous times through the years. Other than a couple their material doesn't really change. Their direct interaction with the audience will vary, but for a few of them their act was line for line the exact same. I hope this helps.
