nnylfa Posted December 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2016 I've never been to Labadee but we going in the spring and I am hoping for some opinions. Our group of six has 2 sets of older parents, my 80 year old mother and 10 year old daughter. I currently have an over the water cabana ($495) booked at nellies but am thinking that maybe the bungalow at Columbus cove ($250) is a better value. Has anyone experienced both and what would you recommend? Why is there such price difference? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Clarea Posted December 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2016 ... Why is there such price difference? Because enough people keep paying the $495.
cb at sea Posted December 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2016 I know my 83 year old mom, while VERY active and supple, would NOT want to spend an entire day on the beach...she's way beyond beaches! No way would I pay that kind of money for a few hours! The 10 year old will NOT be sitting in a cabana...they will be out playing and running, and swimming....the older folks might want to walk about the island some, but will probably want to retreat to the civility of the ship by mid day.... msmayor Posted December 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2016 I've only been to Labadee once...and had an over-the-water cabana. We absolutely loved it! That being said though...be aware that at least on the over-the-water closest to Barefoot beach, the cabanas have lots of stairs. Stairs to get to the cabana, stairs to get to the water...and a good step or two between the levels of the cabana. Its something to think about if anyone in your party has mobility challenges. Rare bobmacliberty Posted December 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Not sure how much you already know about the bungalows, but here is a recent thread that discusses them in detail, with several pictures: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2394971 To Bob's point about people continuing to be willing to pay high prices for the cabanas, I wouldn't be surprised to see the cost of the bungalows go up at some point.
