Please don't take this the wrong way but this whole board is filled with things people have done on Barbados. Check through the posts below that interest you then if you have any questions, by all means ask.

In the past we have snorkeled with the turtles, toured the town, rented a car and stayed on a beach all day. There is a variety so you kind of have to do a little homework. We are not into the caves or wildlife refuges so we would never waste precious island time doing that, but others loved it.

Read a few posts and come back and let us know what questions you have.

Yes, spend hours reading through a thousand posts to try and figure out something. OR do what everybody else does and is ENTITLED to do and ask whatever the heck you want. HOW RUDE....

OK....

Here are my first questions:

1. In the limited time we got there (the cruise line P&O UK has not told us how long we will be there, so I guess we may only have 4 - 5 hours or less here), what is the one thing you need to go and see in Bridgetown??

2. To go snorkelling do you need to do a ship / private tour or can you do it from the beach?

3. What is the best way to get around Bridgetown??

4. Is Bridgetown just where the ships docks? or is the city/town next to where the ship docks? or do we have to travel to get there?

Here are my first questions:

1. In the limited time we got there (the cruise line P&O UK has not told us how long we will be there, so I guess we may only have 4 - 5 hours or less here), what is the one thing you need to go and see in Bridgetown?? Never heard of a port visit that short, but also never sailed P&O?

2. To go snorkelling do you need to do a ship / private tour or can you do it from the beach? Better on a boat tour - you can swim out from the beach, but it's a long way from the beach at Carlisle

3. What is the best way to get around Bridgetown?? Taxi

4. Is Bridgetown just where the ships docks? or is the city/town next to where the ship docks? or do we have to travel to get there?

The ship docks in Bridgetown - about a $5 per person cab ride to get downtown or to the popular beach clubs at Carlisle Bay (Boatyard, Lobster Alive, Harbor Lights, etc.)

We spent the day at the Boatyard and took the boat tour out to snorkel over a wreck and then swim with the dolphins. Check out their web site to see if that is something that would appeal to you. If not there are lots of catamaran/snorkel tours that will show you some of the island.

I would do some homework on this board and Trip Advisor to find something that matches your desires.

Have a great cruise! :)
