hlb76 Posted January 7, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Thanks... I was dreading using life boats. That was a mess on NCL to use life boats Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app
springs741 Posted January 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Tenders, double decker's and on the Breeze, a sister to the Magic, there were two disembark/ transfer location. It moved quickly. About 90 mins after tenders began we heard the announcement that we no longer needed a tender ticket.
Micahs Grandad Posted January 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Carnival uses the local tender boats, which are mostly double deckers and can hold maybe 300 people? the problem with a 300 passenger tender is they take forever to load and unload. hlb76 Posted January 7, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Thanks.. glad they have 2 running as well. I know it's quite the ride in as well. As I recall it was exactly 15 hours in the life boats. ..lol I may be a little off but surely felt that way in those hot boxes. joepeka Posted January 7, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 7, 2017 This is slightly off topic and though I've never paid much attention on any of our cruises that used lifeboats as tenders, I've read that not all lifeboats on cruise ships are approved for tender use. I'm not sure what the criteria is that determines which lifeboats can be used as tenders but have noticed that only certain lifeboats have been used. Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 7, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 7, 2017 The water was very choppy, sometimes splashing into the tender when we did Belize. There was no wind and the sky was sunny, so I assumed it's just rough seas there often, but I could be wrong. I would not return to Belize City because of how long it took to be called to the tender, how unsettling the tender ride was, and because they tell you to only stay in the immediate area unless you're on an excursion. We did cave tubing and it was great.
