Sounds on the Ships

I know this is totally random but when did the sounds change onboard? I remember the sound it used to make before announcements and whatnot and I had been hoping on my most recent cruise to record it for my phone, but it's changed to something that sounds a lot more tinkly. I kind of miss the old bonging sounds that signified "cruise" to me.

Which cruise line? We've noticed on RCCL the sound when your card is inserted coming on or going off the ship has changed. Very disappointing.

Funny you mention this. Last October on the Summit I missed the "bonk", "bonk" as people exited the ship. :(

And no, it doesn't ruin our cruise, just one of the dear things we miss.

That's too bad- that new tinkly sound just doesn't make me think of cruising the same way.

 

But hey, if I'm on a ship, I'll be happy :)
