Jimsr44 Posted January 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Can I bring magnetic hooks on the Jewel, especially in the bath?
anotterchaos Posted January 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2017 On Gem last year, we brought magnets, and they worked on the cabin walls and bathroom door. Didn't try them within the bathroom itself (honestly I can't think of where there'd be enough room. OK, maybe on the toilet area walls).

Thank you, now all I have to do is remember to bring the magnet hooks:)

cb at sea Posted January 18, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Lots of shelf space...no real need for magnets!
casofilia Posted January 18, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2017 What do you want them in the bathroom for? If for washing there is a line in there. Magnets are great for putting all your notices on the walls of your stateroom.
hannibal54 Posted January 18, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2017 We use them to hang up wet or damp clothes in the cabin putting the magnets on the ceiling. Using hangers that we normally bring.

luckyinpa Posted January 18, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2017 on my BA balcony last month it would have been nice to have suction cups to stick to the shower glass so the suits could dry betwen the toilet and the shower. the line they have in the shower is 'angled' and really cant hold much. plus not fun while showering
Rare mking8288 Posted January 18, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Make sure those being used are heavy-duty or industrial strength magnets for hanging up wet clothes, etc. to dry - as it can be rather heavy (just a reminder that NCL is still offering a $19.99 stuffed full all-you-can-fit bag of wet laundry, dry & folded or on hangers - once a week or so, mid-week ... Platinum members, ya know the free deals) The high humidity & small bathroom, with limited fresh air circulation or exhaust, made it a poor choice to dry anything other than quick-dry items, like those from "Ex-Officio" or swimwears overnight. With access to a balcony - best to hang them inside, perhaps along with outside bathroom wall/panels between the doorway & the sleeping area. There should be 2 small hooks along the wall - improvise, bungee cords should work - keep the hand washed items away from the wall for better airflow to dry overnight. Suction cups would not slide around or downward, unlike magnets as the walls/ceilings are metallic but not solid steel, that bond strongly with the average magnets ... FWIW.
