caribill Posted February 10, 2018 #101 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Hi, I did see on some other thread thru carnival that they had an app that news could be shared by passengers and staff. I'm sure there must be one for princess as well right?? Aren't they owned by same peoples Same ownership, but different business practices. Chevrolet and Cadillac are both owned by General Motors. How similar are their offerings?
Tucker in Texas Posted February 11, 2018 #102 Share Posted February 11, 2018 No removable partitions BUT there is a small service door between most balconies which can be unlocked by your cabin steward. Glad to hear this as I will be on her in September along with three adjoining balcony cabins with family members. This way, we can "connect" them but still have privacy in that one can "knock" before coming through the door to make sure we are welcoming visitors (lol). Tucker in Texas Posted February 11, 2018 #103 Share Posted February 11, 2018 On the laundry, it was $3 per use of a machine. I took Tide pods with me as well as dryer sheets which I packed "open.". Bonus with the sheets as it made my packed clothes smell good in transit (lol). All I had to pay for was the drying.
Vol fan Posted February 14, 2018 #104 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I am afraid i cant remember the names but for us this was the best casino on the Princess Ships. Lots of table games, including a craps table (last ship didnt have one). As for slots, a lot of the usual ones, plus some newer 1cent machines, that actually cost $'s not cents - fire and rain was one i think (i should know i was addicted). Also a post a couple of weeks ago had asked about payouts, this was the biggest paying out casino i had ever seen. The machine above was paying out hundreds each time someone sat down, i saw a woman scoop 4.5k on the 2nd day, and a friend of ours won 3 separate jackpot bonuses of a $1000 on a 25cent machine. Do they have Texas Hold ‘em electronic tables or real live dealers? Thanks.

TwoCruisers Posted February 19, 2018 #106 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Same ownership, but different business practices. Chevrolet and Cadillac are both owned by General Motors. How similar are their offerings? It does seem like Princess is different from the other Carnival Corporation companies, but I have a comment about your General Motors analogy. Several years ago, when they were still producing Pontiac and Oldsmobile cars, I purchased a new Oldsmobile. A short time later I found out that my car had a Pontiac engine in it. I also heard of a person who purchased a new Cadillac and was livid when they found out that their new Cadillac had a Chevrolet engine in it. General Motors did a lot of part swapping. I don’t know if this still goes on.
moki'smommy Posted February 19, 2018 #107 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Carnival Corporation owns more than a dozen different cruise lines. If you look up their corporate structure, each line has a president and complete administration in which the president reports to the heads of Carnival Corporation. The presidents have a fair amount of freedom in setting prices, policies, etc. and these differ widely among the lines. A couple of years ago Carnival Corp touted several new presidents, emphasizing younger people and some females saying that this would make the various lines"new, responsive" etc. Personal opinion--as long as they are making the profits that the parent company wants to see, they have a good deal of flexibility. Too much bad press or too little money and there is likely more corporate intervention. I've seen almost no interaction between the lines, although there has been some effort at re-shaping public opinion within some of them.

Thus the implementation of Carnival practices such as requiring prepayment for shore excursions booked in advance. The main day-to-day interaction among the various lines involves purchasing. For example, instead of each line negotiating its own airfare arrangements with each airline, there is now a master contract with each airline. With all the rotations of crews and entertainers, CCL Corp is a very big user of airfares.

She didn't come from Carnival Cruise Line, at least according to on line bios. She was active in the Carnival Corporation acquisition of P&O. luckyinpa Posted February 20, 2018 #110 Share Posted February 20, 2018 Just off the Caribbean Princess and we had new beds and pillows that were wonderful (Rivera Deck). We saw the old mattresses in large containers on the dock. We also got new TV’s during the cruise with on demand movies. We had a great cruise, only complaint was wait time in Anytime Dining and getting into shows .. needed to be there way too early to get a seat. Only went a couple times. Debr would the new tv/demand system be similar to the Regal's?

2BCruising Posted February 21, 2018 #114 Share Posted February 21, 2018 We were on the Jan 13th cruise and no BOGO. We also had the On Demand TVs installed during our cruise. The On Demand capabilities appear to be similar to what was provided on the Regal when we sailed a few years ago.
