fmark Posted January 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Sailing on Oasis this summer and will be traveling with father-in-law who uses an electric wheelchair so we need an accessible shuttle with a ramp or lift. Only option I have so far is booking through RCI and paying $75 per person and it doesn't leave MCO until 11am. Hoping to find something more reasonably priced, leaving earlier from the airport, and reliable to and from. Any suggestions?
grab007 Posted January 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2017 I know Super Shuttle services Orlando Airport and they do have wheelchair accessible vans. Give them a call (or check their website) for times and availability.

Desert Cruizers Posted January 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2017 We will be sailing the Oasis for the first time in April of 2018 and have contacted Cortrans upon reading the FL Ports of Call Departures. We will need Airport transfer to Hotel then back to Airport. The Hotel provides the shuttle so may or may not use them if we use Cortrans all the way. Know this for fact as just book the RCCL accessible bus round trip fbetween MCO and PC a few days ago for an upcoming cruise. Did a lot of research and RCCL's accessible transfer was the better deal IMO. RCCL's but will depart when it's full . Could be 11:00 am or sooner. Regardless the departure time was a non issue for me because of the following reasons: By the time you arrive at PC boarding will most likely have begun and you won't have to deal with crowds waiting to go through security and check-in. Most importantly if there's any traffic delay that morning such an accident and or missile launch that can back up the highway since you're on a RCCL transfer you'll be assured of making it on the ship. You won't have the same benefit if using a private transport. Edited January 24, 2017 by xxoocruiser
fmark Posted January 24, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Our kids were hoping to get on the ship as early as possible so we're trying to find an earlier shuttle. Thanks for all the info. If we can't find a significant savings/earlier time we will probably stick with RCI.

It could also be even later if the ships has to have Coast Guard inspection before boarding can begin and there's no way of knowing that until you actually arrive at port. Therefore how much earlier do you want to be at the port only to have to sit and wait in the crowd ?

My experience for Oasis ( same ship as OP) out of PC was not before 11:30 am. If it's due for Coast Guard safety inspection , the Coast Guard generally never permits boarding to begin until inspection is completed.
cruise pup Posted January 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2017 try cortrans shuttle, prompt and friendly They are the best. However, they do not have a wheelchair ramp or lift on their vehicles.
Desert Cruizers Posted January 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) Cortrans will not work for us because they don't pick up from the Airport after 12:30 so have contacted Cocoa Beach Shuttle and got very good rates. http://www.cbshuttle.com/ Edited January 24, 2017 by Desert Cruizers
