I got an email on Friday that my cruise -04-02-2018 is cancelled due a charter .When I go online my cruise is still in my profile. What to do ? I paid 500 $ deposit.

Is there anyone who had the same issue ?

Thanks

Ellen

This charter was mentioned on another thread last week:

Didn't you also receive from Celebrity options and details for a replacement Cruise? You should have.

We were also booked on this cruise. Celebrity allowed us to change to another cruise for the same amount we were paying for the original one which was a great price. They also gave us $200 OBC. I think one of the options is April 14 which has much higher fares so if you select that one, you're getting a great deal. You should call them or your TA soon.

Who charters an entire cruise ship? Just curious.

This has been going on with the Summit for the last 3 years, and next 2 for sure. They charter out as theme cruises. Its unfortunate its always the Summit, and ALWAYS when its cold in the upper midwest and we'd like to get away.

If you booked through an agent, they'll help you re-schedule, if you booked yourself with X, they should call you. There is an entire dept that is all they do.

Very common, unfortunately

Lots of groups charter the ships. I am going on a Zumba Cruise on Royal in April...passengers got bumped...Friends are on the Summit for a Jazz Cruise this week that is a charter. It happens frequently. The smaller ships are prime for charters since they are easier to sell out to Jazz fans or whatever group it is that does the charter.
