doxie4 Posted January 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2017 We will be cruising from this port for the first time in March. My mom was concerned how far it is from the parking area to the cruise terminal. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
doog61 Posted January 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2017 We have cruised 3 times from Baltimore and have been no more than 100 or so feet from the terminal entrance closer than going to the local supermarket! If the ramp to the ship is repaired by March this would be a bigger problem than the parking lot distance.
johnjen Posted January 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2017 OP, mom might like it better if you just stay at a park and cruise hotel the night before, and on the morning take a shuttle to the pier for the cruise. Between the cost of parking at the terminal or getting a room the night before, the cost difference is minimal and you get to relax the night before, just a good suggestion. Biker19 Posted January 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2017 mom was concerned how far it is from the parking area to the cruise terminal. She can be dropped off right at the front door of the terminal and only you have to worry about the walk back from the parking lot (which is still quite close). R_i_c_h Posted January 30, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) It's really close. A two minute walk. Look at the map. The parking lot on the left side of the building is where you would park. You enter the terminal near the northwest corner of the building. Hope this helps. spookwife Posted January 30, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2017 It takes longer to go through the line for security than it is from the parking lot to the door leading in to the terminal Sent from my iPad using Forums

I have cruised from Baltimore several times and I don't think you can drop someone off at the door when you are in the line to park. You have to keep moving to a parking space once you have paid to park. You can drop off passengers if you are not parking.

I was talking about the area where you drop the bags off before heading to the parking lot - it is virtually at the front door. While stopped to drop off bags, the OP's mother can simply walk into the terminal and not stay with the car. None of this makes much diff as all the distances are very manageable. dixieva Posted January 31, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Oh I see what you meant. You are right that it wouldn't make much difference about the distance to walk. I travel with my 87 year old sister and she has no trouble walking from where the car is parked to the terminal.
cruisekmc Posted January 31, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 31, 2017 One of the easiest ports we've ever gone out of. You drive right up to the baggage drop-off and then park. Very organized and the parking fee, if I remember correctly was reasonable...especially after you've parked at a NYC port. mikebz Posted January 31, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 31, 2017 One of the easiest ports to leave from. Also, very convenient to drive to. If southbound on 95, just make sure you are in the extreme right lane before the tunnel. The exit is right after you leave the tunnel.
