Jamericannn Posted February 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2017 This is good news because I love seafood. Bad news is that you have to pay for meals here. I wonder what they are going to take away from these ships to add the seafood shack.
Rare sparks1093 Posted February 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Nice to have a choice but I probably wouldn't use it a lot since I don't like to spend money on food on a cruise.

Also, it isn't clear from the article if everything is going to be extra or just some of the items?
elklemi Posted February 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 2, 2017 Just got off the Conquest and the old fish and chips on deck 10 is now a free BBQ place, the seafood shack is in back of Lido where they used to do omelets in the morning. I had the clams and they were pretty good. They had whole snapper also.
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 2, 2017 On the Vista it's in the back where the Tandoori is on the Breeze and Dream. Yes you pay extra, but you get to avoid the greasy, overbreaded fish and chips. IMO, the 2 lobster rolls plus fries for $12 was a good deal. Cheaper and better than the lobster roll I choked down for twice the price at Logan airport last fall.
cuppettmd Posted February 2, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 2, 2017 I tried the crab sliders last week on the Liberty. They were pretty good but I couldn't understand why they added the extra gratuity to them. It just seems excessive.
bury me at sea Posted February 2, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 2, 2017 I really enjoyed the fish and chips venue on the Conquest. Lunch there was included. Not interested in paying extra.

BallFour4 Posted February 3, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Tried this on the Conquest in January. The chowder was good! I'm not sure this will last, it looks like they can change the sign and drop the bowls of food quickly. .
Rare sparks1093 Posted February 3, 2017 #14 Share Posted February 3, 2017 Always looking for the $$$$$. Well, yes, they are a business and that is what businesses do. They offer something for a fee and one is free to buy it or not (and in my case probably not).
CJHAN Posted February 3, 2017 #15 Share Posted February 3, 2017 So are they already on all these ships or are they coming? Sent from my SM-G935P using Forums mobile app

Sent from my SM-G935P using Forums mobile app On the ships listed in the article. And I get the sense of loss of a "free" dining option, but IMO, the best thing about the old fish n chips was the ceviche. Fish and oysters were heavily breaded, which soaked up the fryer grease and the buns were greasy too. Used to grab a ton of napkins, peel off the breading, toss the bun and grab some tortillas from Blue Iguana to make own fish tacos. Just ate the oysters sans breading.
