The IC is not on all ships. ;)

Neither is free ice cream. On some Princess ships the old free soft serve ice creamery has been replaced by a New Zealand franchise and you have to pay for everything including a simple cone. Tip: It's still ship made and free in Horizon Court at lunch and dinner.

The IC on the Coral is, I believe, a smaller, watered down version of the ones on the larger ships. Plus, it is situated right by the casino and the smoke smell can be a bit overwhelming. I didn't really find the IC all that appealing on the Coral. Looking forward to the one on the Grand in April, though!

I'm not sure what ship I want to sail on yet. Just starting to look the different ships. That is way I wanted to know if the IC was always free on all the ships.

Thanks everyone for all your answers.

On any Princess ship that has an IC all of the food is free. :)

Except for gelato ice cream that is available at IC on some ships and have a charge, all food at IC are free.

I feel like I should say that if you are very selective of ingredients that you like, you might have trouble finding things in the IC. A lot of their salads are very, I guess you would say upscale and have a lot of ingredients that a lot of people don't like. For instance on our last cruise I think I'm the only person that got the beat and carrot salad. It was delicious! I had seen it in the buffet the day before and I was so glad to get another chance at it. But they quite often have very unusual types of salad and sandwiches in there. So if you aren't seeing anything you'd like it might be wise to grab a plate from Buffet right before they close and take it to your room if you think you'll need a late-night snack. My husband does that a lot. He doesn't really care from anything from the IC . every once in awhile he's okay with a warm sandwich from there but doesn't like any of the salads! I'm usually up for anything so there's always something I will eat. If we know we're going to have a late night we usually go and get a plate of cheese and crackers and breads from Horizon Court

What is the cost for room service?

No price on room service, but it is a nice gesture to give your room service steward a couple bucks when they deliver your order. You can also charge the tip to your cabin folio, but we stick with cash most of the time.

There is a room service menu in the cabin. Meals indicated have no charge. Prices for beverages and party plates like assorted canapes, cheese & cracker, shrimp, tortilla chips, etc. are on the menu. Cash tips are appreciated.

Very yummy chicken salad. They will put it on a croissant for you if you wish.

OMG. I completely agree. The Chicken Salad at the IC is soooo good. That, and the Pizza up on the Lido deck. We actually prefer it to Alfredo's. There are many other things to look forward to, as well. Although, the IC is such a nice stop at any time.

Can you get a large cheese/cracker plate to take to your cabin for a party with friends?

Yes you can, we have done that before and the young lady who served us in the IC took great delight in making us a platter, she insisted we take some deserts too. She was a credit to Princess.

Last time on the Regal an Emerald, there was a platter of cheese at the IC only after 11pm.
