Hoopster95 Posted February 22, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 22, 2017 (edited) I believe someone reported in this thread or another today that they did not make it out. Yep, our group didn't make it out. The staff said we were in the top 25% of groups as far as how close we got to the final stage. Perhaps Anthem's puzzle is easier? What is this game exactly? Have never heard of it before. Thanks! A few pictures of what the "game" looks like here(scroll down to post #105) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2443789&page=6 We did no clues and got out with 6 mins left. Aha! Maybe groups who selected "clues" are reporting that they got out. You guys are stars! :) Edited February 22, 2017 by Hoopster95
mooseman52b Posted February 23, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 23, 2017 I believe someone reported in this thread or another today that they did not make it out. Our group ended up "Dead in Space":'). We still had a lot of fun and it was well worth the cost.
Beachammo Posted February 23, 2017 #28 Share Posted February 23, 2017 We also did it on the crossing....we had a blast. It was free then and everyone showed up. There were 5 people waiting in case someone didn't show up. They will ask you in the beginning if you want clues or no clues. We did no clues and got out with 6 mins left. Fantastic use of the space and worth the price of a drink if you've never done one before. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk I was corrected by one of my teammates......5 minutes 13 seconds left. Grandma Petania Posted February 24, 2017 #29 Share Posted February 24, 2017 My adult daughter and I did it on Harmony two weeks ago, and felt it was well worth the cost. The rest of our team were new to us, and all first time escapers, but we quickly learned to work together. We had so much fun that we've reserved an escape room here on land for 8 family members. Even with a Groupon, it costs more than $9 each. We'll be sailing Harmony again next year, but I imagine the Rubicon will be the same. We won't repeat it because we figure we would remember enough to not be fair - or as much fun. BTW, in spite of a malfunction that cost us at least five minutes, we got out with about six minutes to spare.
Krazyfuntimes Posted February 25, 2017 #30 Share Posted February 25, 2017 Is there an age limit for this? If not does anyone who did it think ages 13 and 14 year old twins could do it with us? Thanks!

Rare Cruiseswithfamilyornot Posted February 25, 2017 #35 Share Posted February 25, 2017 We did it as a group and I agree with others...very well done. I've done escape rooms on land many times, and never have I paid anywhere close to $8.99. It's always been a multiple of that number, so I thought it was a great deal! Always a matter of perspective I suppose. I agree with others, there needs to be some charge to be sure people show up and they did a very good job. I would recommend. We did not make it out alive, but came very close.
Peeker28 Posted March 21, 2017 #36 Share Posted March 21, 2017 I did the Escape room on Anthem and had to sign up at Guest Services. Since they charge for this, do you sign up online ahead of time or when you board the ship?

CruiseZog Posted March 21, 2017 #38 Share Posted March 21, 2017 Do they have this on the Allure? Sounds like something my family would enjoy.

Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted March 22, 2017 #40 Share Posted March 22, 2017 kids can do it with parents. When I was on the Harmony TA and the planner did not let you sign up anyone below 12 yrs. However, that is a bit young. I think 14-15 would be more realistic. JMHO Our group of 5 made it out, also. The others that were signed up for our session did not show. We were the last group to do the Rubicon on the TA. The ship cancelled the last 2 sessions because of the photo op of the 3 Oasis class ships. There is a minimum requirement of 6 people to "make" a session. However, they knew if they did not let us do it we would not get an opportunity. They told us less than 50% of the teams made it through.
rodenboy Posted March 22, 2017 #41 Share Posted March 22, 2017 It is a BRILLIANT way to spend an hour on board. I can't recommend it enough. It's by far the most advanced "Escape Room" I have conquered (and I have been in Escape Rooms on both sides of the Atlantic!) The man on Harmony who was our "guide" said that RCCL plans to add an "underwater" themed one on a future ship. I'm not sure what the theme is on the Anthem game, but that one sounds fun too - I guess that'll be on Symphony! It was probably the best 8.99 I spent on the cruise to be honest! BTW, in spite of a malfunction that cost us at least five minutes, we got out with about six minutes to spare. I posted the above a month ago. We did the family escape room here in Virginia, and we got out with only 14 seconds to spare. The theme of our room was a casino. We lost at least 10 minutes figuring out how to score the roulette table, since none of us had ever played one before. Much to the surprise of a couple family members, they all enjoyed the experience, and I'm sure we'll do another one (or two or three). When I posted last month, I thought we would be sailing the Harmony again in February 2018. However, I just couldn't wait another whole year to cruise again. We have decided to sail on Allure this December 3rd, and in March 2018, since we've only sailed Oasis & Harmony (and Allure costs less than Harmony). Then, I also booked for December 2018 on Symphony of the Seas. I am optimistic that Symphony will have an escape room that is different from the one on Harmony. We will definitely be trying that.
