LibrarianBecky Posted February 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2017 I need to monitor my sugar intake for health reasons. I can occasionally eat a few bites of a regular dessert, but try to stick with lower sugar options, if I can. We are sailing on Anthem in a month. I know there is no sugar added ice cream on the menu in the MDR. I've also heard of people ordering fresh fruit for dessert. Are there other low sugar options for dessert in either WJ or MDR? Clarea Posted February 27, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2017 There is usually one sugar-free item on the MDR menu, There might be more choices in Windjammer.
LBB Posted February 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2017 I think there is a sugar free key lime pie and cheesecake. I actually think it's as good as the regular version. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Tee & Chilli Posted February 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Are sugar substitutes used? I would like to try these options however the substitutes have an after taste.

Yes, they do use sugar substitutes for their sugar free items. Sugar free cookies are common, as are flavored waters.

forkcreek Posted February 27, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2017 To avoid becoming a diabetic, I have been on a very low carb diet. On RCCL ships, that I recall, all pastries are "no sugar added" and have a cake included. The cookies are generally sugar free. However both the pastries and the cookies are very high in Carbs and thus a no no for me ( and should be avoided by all diabetic sufferers).. I have written several times asking RCCL to provide real deserts that are appropriate for us concerned about diabetes, with many subsequent promises but little results. spookwife Posted February 27, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Anything listed as SF uses fake stuff. Anything listed as NSA just have whatever naturally occurring sugars in the ingredients . Fresh fruits and berries are always an option, but those of course are high in natural sugar. Sent from my iPad using Forums
