Drinks prices

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help with current prices on explorer of the seas for beer, spirits and cocktails.

I was on the ovation of the seas, the drinks already had the 18% included in the advertised prices as it was an Australian/NZ cruise and the beers and spirits (single) were around $7-7.50 USD ($11 AUD), cocktails were around $14 ($20 AUD). We found pre-purchasing the drinks package much cheaper and easier as it was around $67 per day AUD while on board it was $65 USD per day.

We've just returned from a Radiance OTS top end cruise so prices would be same.

Prices are in US$. Beers were about $7-$8. A bit more for the "upmarket" varieties. They did have Guinness in cans but they tasted a little watery compared to draught.

Cocktails start mostly from $11. They did have "Cocktail of the Day" but for some reason they were $1 more than standard price. I'd previously found that drinks of the day were a special, that is, cheaper.

We didn't buy any wine by the glass as we, and our table mates, had brought bottles with us. Towards the end of the cruise the MDR had a wine special(?). Buy 3 bottles for $90 from a selection of Australian reds and whites. We (our table of 3 couples) opted for 2 red and one white, all Lindemans, which were excellent quality. I can't remember the varieties, sorry.

None of us drank spirits so no help with that.

not sure but heres the go, by a bot of cheap red, drink one glass, then buy 1 straight vodka, and 1 straight bundy. Tip into bottle and shake.Helps if you can coerce the bartender to slip as they are pouring your shot. Buy your shots at Happy hr, you now have a cocktail, that will rock your socks, looks like a red wine, tastes yum, and has the effect of Russian babushka rocket fuel. HAPPY DAYZ.Keep your Stock bottle in cabin, and tip any free champagne or any damn thing into it, when you start going numb from the legs up, Whoa back.

WOW. That's pretty steep prices. $11 a beer & $16 for a cocktail.. Can see why most people get drinks package on RCCL.

For the most part it is due to the currency exchange, but yes it adds up which makes the packages appear better value.
