Saved $1200.00 Bucks!

Recommended Posts

Couldn't you have lowered the price $1200 rather than getting OBC?

They were willing to send me a check! I asked for that as an obc! Between the bar and the casino and my wife and always buy watches onboard an obc is like icing on the cake!

And when you can't spend the 1200 they will keep it.

So no they will send you a check when the cruise is done! Lol. You can always go to the casino and "cash out" what's left over! But I like the fact that I already have bundles of money waiting for me!

Good luck to you.:)

Pays to watch the prices. Out of the 20 cruises I've taken last 3+ yrs only 5 didn't have a price drop & 2 of those were last min cruises. I'll call if price drops $5, last one offered a military discount and price dropped over $800...

Good for you OP. Unless there's a 30+% discount on the drink package precruise, we usually buy onboard. That's half your OBC right there. Excursions and restaurants would eat that up in no time. Have a great cruise.

How did you do this? Was there a price drop?

Yes, I just kept looking everyday and last night there was another owners suite available at a lower price! Called them up and they matched it for me, I had already had it paid off so I asked if I could just get it as an OBC!

For the price drop and OB credit, does the deck have to be the same as the original booking?

Nope! At least not last night, my suite is on the 12th floor and the room I was asking RCCL about was on the 11th! So got the OBC and kept my original room!

Good Job!! We had a large OBC on our last cruise and had already purchased the drinks package and prepaid tips, so we just cashed it out in the Casino and used it to pay for our private tours and for shopping :)

As noted the OP can always go to the casino and cash out whatever balance remains. Perhaps there would have been fewer not my choice folks if the post read: I saved $1,140.

Oh they charge 5% on obc at the casino as well as with cc? I guess that makes sence!
