billnheather Posted March 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Tonight was the last night before final payment for our cruise in June! called RCCL and they were able to save me $1,200.00 on our cruise and apply it to an OBC! BOOM score!
Clarea Posted March 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Couldn't you have lowered the price $1200 rather than getting OBC?
Tee & Chilli Posted March 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2017 That's a lot of obc to use.
riclop Posted March 10, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2017 And when you can't spend the 1200 they will keep it.
billnheather Posted March 10, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Couldn't you have lowered the price $1200 rather than getting OBC? They were willing to send me a check! I asked for that as an obc! Between the bar and the casino and my wife and always buy watches onboard an obc is like icing on the cake!
billnheather Posted March 10, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted March 10, 2017 And when you can't spend the 1200 they will keep it. So no they will send you a check when the cruise is done! Lol. You can always go to the casino and "cash out" what's left over! But I like the fact that I already have bundles of money waiting for me!
PCWalton1 Posted March 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Glad you are happy but I think I would have rather had the $1200 in my pocket instead of Royal's.

Ashland Posted March 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Wow ... Not the decision I would have made....I sometimes have trouble spending the small amount I have gotten.
zebra36 Posted March 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2017 As noted the OP can always go to the casino and cash out whatever balance remains. Perhaps there would have been fewer not my choice folks if the post read: I saved $1,140.

shellster1 Posted March 10, 2017 #13 Share Posted March 10, 2017 NICE!!! I'm with you, I'd take the OBC, too! With shore excursions, drinks, pictures, etc.. I feel like it's almost too easy to rack up a $1000 bill. Not having to think about it much would be wonderful. Have fun!!

ONECRUISER Posted March 10, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Pays to watch the prices. Out of the 20 cruises I've taken last 3+ yrs only 5 didn't have a price drop & 2 of those were last min cruises. I'll call if price drops $5, last one offered a military discount and price dropped over $800...
Big_G Posted March 10, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Good for you OP. Unless there's a 30+% discount on the drink package precruise, we usually buy onboard. That's half your OBC right there. Excursions and restaurants would eat that up in no time. Have a great cruise. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Goodtime Cruizin Posted March 10, 2017 #17 Share Posted March 10, 2017 Two deluxe drink pkgs are going to be roughly $800. I think you did alright. Just don't pre-pay for any extras until you get on board.
billnheather Posted March 10, 2017 Author #18 Share Posted March 10, 2017 How did you do this? Was there a price drop? Yes, I just kept looking everyday and last night there was another owners suite available at a lower price! Called them up and they matched it for me, I had already had it paid off so I asked if I could just get it as an OBC!

#5grandma Posted March 10, 2017 #20 Share Posted March 10, 2017 For the price drop and OB credit, does the deck have to be the same as the original booking?

billnheather Posted March 11, 2017 Author #22 Share Posted March 11, 2017 For the price drop and OB credit, does the deck have to be the same as the original booking? Nope! At least not last night, my suite is on the 12th floor and the room I was asking RCCL about was on the 11th! So got the OBC and kept my original room! joandian Posted March 11, 2017 #23 Share Posted March 11, 2017 Good Job!! We had a large OBC on our last cruise and had already purchased the drinks package and prepaid tips, so we just cashed it out in the Casino and used it to pay for our private tours and for shopping :)
