I have sailed 5 times on RCCL. That puts me at Level 2 on my next cruise........ however my next cruise is next month on Celebrity. Can anyone tell me about any perks I may be entitled to ? Do I need to call and connect my RCCL membership to Captains Club ?

If by level 2 you mean Platinum on Royal, you will be Select on Celebrity. You will need to call Celebrity Captain's Club and get a CC number assigned and associated with your reservation. It is not automatic and the numbers are different.

As a RCCL Diamond Plus vs Celebrity Elite, these are some of what RCCL gives you that Celebrity does NOT!

One free pictures per person (2 for a couple)

A dedicated lounge 24/7

A full free day of wifi per person

Better and more organized boarding process

Three free casino pulls

Four/Five bottles of free water in room upon arrival and cookies

Some special treats fruit/candy in room during cruise

A free special pass to bridge/kitchen/backstage

All you want to drink during RCCL social time - not just 3 drinks as on Celebrity

In addition to all you want to drink during social hour in lounge or if you can't make it to the lounge...

Three free drinks per person at bars during 1700-2030

We do not drink alcohol and so all we wanted was bottled water or sodas

Celebrity Evening social is only1700-1900 versus RCCL 1700-2030RCCL has finger food "Buffett" rather than some server bringing around a few bite-size choices

With the exception that Celebrity has more ports/routes than RCCL we feel Celebrity Elite status is treated like a 2nd class citizen when compared to RCCL.

But then again, if you book even a ocean view cabin on Celebrity you get the basic drink package which makes all the "free" drinks you get on RCL get a moot point. In my opinion Celebrity has better service, food and around the ship entertainment than RCL.

Having been Diamond on Royal before sailing on Celebrity We find that we use more of the Celebrity Elite benefits than we do Royal's Diamond benefits. The Diamod lounge is nice and we enjoy it in the evening although the it seems to be getting more and more crowded.

We find the free bag of Laundry each, free 90 minutes of Internet each or a discount on a package, casino match plays, dry cleaning of a garment each and priority for tenders were more important to us than the free picture, fruit or candy or a lounge 24/7. Since we always have a beverage package on Celebrity. the four/five bottles of water or an extra drink in the Evening are covered plus by the beverage package.

You make some good points, however, since we do not drink alcohol, the drink package does not appeal to us. But we do like the dry cleaning, and we also get a free bag of laundry each on RCCL. I guess we were Elite Plus on CC. Your also correct about the lounge getting crowed during social hour but we liked the 24/7 so we could go somewhere outside the social time that was generally quite and there were no kids to just read and relax. But we still do CC and have 4 cruise lined up this year with CC.

Actually, you are still gold on RCI. You do not move to platinum until you COMPLETE your next cruise, so you will not be select on X.
